Cold stratification: The process of subjecting seeds to both cold and moist conditions. Seed of many trees, shrubs and perennials, and flower seeds require these conditions before germination will ensue. Soak the seeds in cold water for 6–12 hours immediately before placing them in a sealed plastic bag with moistened vermiculite ,or sand, or even a moistened paper towel for 2 weeks. Plant 1/4" deep.

Have patience and they will sprout
10 days after purchasing they have sprouted!! I used a nutrient rich potting soil to start and misted them twice a day to keep them moist. I put them in an old plastic strawberry container and kept the lid closed until I saw green sprouts. These seeds need sunlight to germinate but you don’t want to fry them!!Update: the second picture was taken 12 days after the first picture. I put them in the ground about a week ago and they are already getting big!! I’ll update again as they get bigger!!

AMENDED Review
Not a single seed germinated. I planted in three separate areas of my property. My beds are well maintained with natural horse manure and the soil is tested annually with the local extension. While I have many native plants growing in my wildflower garden I could not get a single seedling to develop. Don't waste your money. It's hard to write such a poor review. Bad seeds will germinated at least a few plants from1000 seeds. This seed batch had 0% germination.AMENDED: I contacted Marde Ross & Company directly. Marde was very personable in her communication. I appreciate when vendors take the time to listen to clients. She was prompt in taking care of me. She has sent me a new batch of seeds. I will hold off on planting until spring 2018. I will update my review if the seeds germinate. In the meantime I've upgraded my review since their customer service was a huge plus in this instance.

They will sprout if you plant them right.
Received my seeds 10 days ago. Planted 50+ seeds in a 30gal pot over seeding because of reveiws. 48 plants have sprouted. Took 7 days. Can't wait for them to grow and bloom going to be awsome. Might have to thin them out a bit. Might put up photo when they bloom.

Seeds need to be labeled
Seeds are not labeled. It makes it difficult to know where to plant them.Today I received a small box from China. Inside was a Mail Intercept Notice fr US Dept of Agriculture.Reason(s) for disposition includedMaterial not authorized entryMaterial is in or contaminated with soil. Soil can carry many healthy plant pests and diseases.Photo-sanitary certificate is missingNow I am stuck since I don’t know what didn’t get here.

Did not germinate
I am a master gardener and I feel that I did everything possible to get these seeds to germinate. In fact, I tried several different methods. Sorry, to say not one seed germinated.

Fantastic garden of color! Great results !
I have to agree with the person who said take care and a little patience. I have a garden full of Cleomes that came back this year. Plenty of seed so start several containers. They are continually blooming and taking over everywhere and I just let them. Use really good potting soil and wait until they are about 5-6 inches the first time. I’m in Florida and they came back by themselves this year better than ever.

Anticipating beautiful climbing flowers
2 seeds per peat pot,10 to a cardboard box. Then covered in clear wrap to control moisture. Many seed boxes out on the patio where I watch them hatching into beautiful climbing plants along my fence out front.

Junk seeds
Planted all 1000 seeds in my greenhouse and not one germinated, very disappointed for this is a setback for me I have many many varieties of plants growing but these seeds are junk buyer beware I am a established master gardener been doing this for 40 plus years, never had issues starting cleome seeds in the past, they will grow in concrete if you allow them to self sow, but this seller is selling junk seeds 10 dollars wasted hopefully I will get a refund as I have requested
