Although it's aimed toward production farmers, all the principles are applicable to homesteaders and hobby farmers as well. If you're still tilling and not cover cropping, you need to give this book a fair read. Then go look at the numerous videos by folks who are practicing these techniques and see their results. You'll be convinced that you need to start using these methods too. Lists cover crops in an encyclopedia fashion, but with many charts to help you make the best choices for your situation. It addresses farming by region which helps you adapt for your growing conditions. I pull it from my bookshelf every planting season.

This book is so well written it is recognized by Master Gardeners in the Upstate area of South Carolina. It is well thought out when put together and a must have reference book if you are using cover crop to protect your valuable land and its soil.

Paid extra to get new edition. Book came with back cover already coming off. Husband thought I ordered him a used book. Not worth paying more for new when comes in used condition!

I am new to organic gardening and this book was recommended from a seed seller. It is a very good book. I have read only parts, but the structure and professionalism is obvious when skimming this book. It is 244 pages, but has the information for begginer to advanced practioner.

This is a "GREAT" book. Easy to get information quickly. I especially like the tables where one can see a side by side comparison of many different aspects of multiple cover crops.
