This is a fantastic tool which has a great feel and build quality to it. Obviously there are much cheaper sledgehammers available, but I always believe in the fact that in most cases you get what you pay for. The sledgehammer while in use has a moulded head to the shaft which is essential for demanding situations to prevent tool breakage.Furthermore, with the sledgehammer being of fibreglass material, the impact/force is drastically reduced so that you do not feel it through your arms (which would ache quite quickly with longer durations of use).I chose the 10lb hammer as I believed it would be the right weight, I have to admit it does feel heavy at first however this is the right one to get. Anything else will be either too light or too heavy defeating the main purpose of a sledgehammer. In my case this sledgehammer was used to break down a wall as well as some old concrete fence posts. The sledgehammer does the job well.Despite this tool being the first purchase of mine for this brand, it does not disappoint. With that being said, I would have no hesitation in recommending this tool which is perfect for breaking concrete/walls.

This joins a line up of several other Roughneck tools, all of which have the same high quality construction.Working with heavy hand tools generally results in me being tired leaving them where they are, no worries with fibreglass handle which is often the first thing to go.

Im pleased with it and would recommend. Ive only used it a few times but feels well built and seems like it should last a lifetime, so money well spent.My only gripe is not related to the sledgehammer at all, but the packaging it arrived in. The seller or shipping company wrapped the handle in very tight black plastic film that when unwrapped off had residue stuck all over the handle. This has to be removed as its so sticky it’ll stick to your palm and affect grip and feel icky. The adhesive residue was so strong I had to use heavy-duty chemicals and a half hour of unwanted jerking (with gloves) to get it off, only to find I had rubbed off the logo and all the safety images! Not a big deal it was all cosmetic, but maybe the seller/courier will see this and not to use such sticky packaging film.

Pretty good high quality and heavy quite good overall

Perfect for the job. I was able to pretty easily break up an old concrete path in the garden without the sledge hammer being too heavy for me - in fact it was just right. Really sturdy, can tell it will last and I’ve got loads more jobs to crack on with now.

This is a fantastic piece of kit. I had recently purchased a Roughneck pick axe, and so I knew this was a quality brand. There are cheaper sledge hammers on Amazon, but I believe you get what you pay for. This is a well constructed piece of kit. I particularly like the fact that the head is moulded on to the shaft itself. Thereby, unlike "traditional" wood sledge hammers, the head does not come flying off! Also, as the sgaft is fibreglass, you do not "feel" the shock as you come down on to the surface. In terms of weight, I personally think the 10lb hammer is ideal. Albeit I have not seen or tried a 7lb hammer, I suspect this would be too light. Conversely I think a 14lb hammer would be too heavy. I have only used it so far to break up a small stone wall - but it was great. Overall, I would highly recommend this product. Delivery was made safely within 2 days by UPS.

I’ve never bought a sledgehammer before so really had no idea what o was looking for - needing it to smash through a concrete shed base I thought I would need something huge. This worked perfectly, the shaft is comfortable and doesn’t vibrate too much, the hammer feels sturdy to use as well. I only really wanted a hammer to smash stuff up so for that job it was ideal.

Liegt gut in der Hand und lässt sich auch einhändig gut hämmern. Habe damit sogar Erdnägel in Schotter reingetrieben. Der lange Stiehl bringt da ne Menge Schwung.Nur gut treffen muss man ;-)
