This textbook is required for studying French as an intensive beginner while an undergraduate at my Univversity, and I have found the series to be excellent for giving lots of information in a way that is not overwhelming. If you have not read the first in the series I would start there, unless you are comfortable with conjugation and tenses as well as basic vocab etc. It is daunting at first how most of the book is written in French, but this encourages problem solving and finding other materials to support your learning as you go along. The CD is helpful also, although I have not yet fully utilised it to be able to say much more than that. May not be the best book for just picking up and trying to learn French, but if you have some kind of structure that you can follow alongside then this book is invaluable.

Used for the LFA level 2 teaching at the Ini of York. Book arrived on specified date, in mint condition.Easy to read, colourful and complete with CD’s.

I bought this book because it was the one the teacher is using. It's very good for the class but I'm not sure about the self learning.

First book excellent for my initial French course. This second book is for the next term.

The CD and DVD certainly help with understanding the spoken word. I am using this as for my elective at uni and it was the recommended book. It explains things clearly.

Excellent book, really good method - start with book 1 and work your way through the 4.

Very good included CD & DVD arrived on time. The only negative is that it is all in French no English supplied.
