Star Wars Jedi Knight (Qui-Gon Jinn) Lightsaber

Great lightsaber for the price
This Qui-Gon Jinn lightsaber is a great value. It's size and appearance seem relatively authentic compared to the movies (I was buying this as a Halloween costume accessory).Unfortunately, there was nothing to help you clip it onto your belt. I ended up looping some string around the battery compartment door and attaching that to a carabiner, which was pretty effective. The extending blade that lights up was a bonus for me. There's a little clip that slides over the blade opening to prevent the blade from extending accidentally, which works well. It also slides out of the way easily for quick extension of the blade. The light for the green plastic blade was pretty weak. You pretty much need to be in a completely dark area for it to be effective. Considering the price, this seemed reasonable to me.The switch that turns the light on and off had a tendency to slide to the on position accidentally (probably from me knocking it, because there was a decently stiff click between positions), but this was also a pretty minor thing for me.Overall, I'd say this is great as a costume prop, and pretty good as a general toy, especially for $12.

Poor quality light saber
I bought this light saber for my 9 year old son. This is his review: “The Jedi knight light saber is trash. It broke in 2 hits. The cost should be less for such an expensive light saber. I would rate this product 1 star!”

Great value! Nice price
my 4 year old loves this. Keep in mind this is a cheap toy for $7 it isn't indestructible. He and his brother have had saber fights and it has taken a beating. dented in a few times but I was able to pop it back out. IT also lights up. I thought it was great for the price. I was looking for a fast buy because they went to a star wars summer camp and had a day to bring light sabers. So for a quick cheap toy it was perfect.

It truly surprised me!
When I purchased this lightsaber for my three year old daughter, I thought I was buying one that was just like the ones we'd seen in walmart... I'd had the Qui Gon lightsaber from walmart when I was a kid and thought it must be the same. After buying it, I thought, this is a little flimsier (I thought)... doesn't have the button to release the blade (which I immediately saw as a flaw), instead it has this lil plastic piece that slides over the blade to keep it closed and that you move over if you want to open it. However, when I gave it to my three year old, I found that these features made it SO MUCH easier for her to handle. She can open and close it without my assistance... something she cannot do with the walmart lightsabers... And when we realized that it lit up (and lights up well), it made her day. My worries about the "flimsyness" were quickly satiated as it has endured many an epic duel with both mommy and daddy and held up nicely. Ultimately, for the price, you can't go wrong... it lights up! We are so happy with it, we are buying her the purple Mace Windu one for Christmas :)

Had to repair the light, here’s how
There are several reviews about the light not working, and mine was the same way. If you’re reading this review about light sabers, you might be a little nerdy, handy with a soldering iron, and want that light working today for your costume. I know I do!Use a small screwdriver on the battery door. Mine wasn’t stripped, but too large of a screw driver will strip these cheap screws.Pry it off from the tab with the screw.Put in batteries. Yours works!?!?! Lucky... if not keep going.Remove the screw in the battery compartment. Same size as before.Pop the top ring off, it’s glued on. No need to remove the screw.Use a flat head to pop the sides apart while getting them started at the bottom. Twist, don’t pry. Preserve the tabs.Find that simple issue preventing your light from working. My wire was either broken or not soldered one the first place.Reassemble and pat yourself on the back. Guess who’s ready to fight the dark side!

Buyer beware
Item is described as “extending more than 3 feet” even says it on the packaging. But the blade is only 21” long. If you want a 1999-era old school lightsaber, go for it. Otherwise there are higher quality ones out there for equal or lesser price.

Qui-Gon's lightsaber
Using this for my bridal bouquet.... saw on pinterest and place they sold them at had them over $80!!! i said "I could make that on my own, far cheaper!!" works perfect!they don't make them like they did in 1999 when Phantom Menace first came out, THOSE ones you could fight with as kids, this one is so flimsy it would never hold up to kids using them like that

This things is CRAP!
I bought this for my sons birthday, as I cant afford $40 for the toy saber I wanted, with all the bells and whistles. I expected it to be a bit cheesy, sure, but one whap, and the chintzy plastic blade warped, it then got stuck inside the handle, and last but not least, the pieces of the blade came a part, all within the same day. Granted, boys can be hard on things, but overall, he was being careful, and even so, I didnt expect a toy sword to come apart, as I thought they are built to withstand....oh, I dont know....SWORD FIGHTING! I would so return this if I hadnt already thrown the packaging away but I can qurantee I will not be buying another one. Pffft!

Really amazing lightsaber
Well I gotta say it looks really amazing and awesome I got no complaints about it, And also it didn’t break so that’s good to say about it. I gotta say it came early before the due date as a Star Wars fan I totally like it a lot I recommend it and that’s pretty much what I have to say.
