One of the most popular British bands of the 1980s, the Smiths' bright but forceful guitar-based sound paved the way for the coming Brit-pop revolution, and lead singer Morrissey established himself as one of the most distinct front men in pop music. The Smiths: The Complete Picture is a home video release which collects promo clips and television appearances for 14 of the band's best-known songs, including "This Charming Man," "How Soon Is Now?," "What Difference Does It Make," "The Queen Is Dead," "Girlfriend in a Coma," and "Shoplifters of the World Unite." Great collector's item
The Smiths are part of rock n roll history and this excellent collection of music videos proves it. I bought this DVD to replace my video tape version. This is a must for any Smiths or Morrisey fan!

Gift for someone - and they loved it
Gift for teenage son that is exploring "older" music. This is good for getting into the band. He was really impressed.

I should have read the other reviews
I didn't think that artists like the Smith's would lip-synch their songs on an English TV show. This was a terrible DVD and I'm a big fan of The Smiths. I was expecting something like "The Complete Jam" DVD, which is an incredible slice of music history. Don't buy this unless you have to own every speck of media generated by (for) The Smiths.

Three Stars
Not too bad. The videos aren't too high quality though, which is pretty annoying. But oh well

well worth it
the top of the pops appearances are mimed shamelessly (morrissey doesn't have a microphone, guitars aren't even connected to anything) and the videos are mimed also, but nevertheless i still completely love this video. it really gives you an idea of morrissey's amazing stage presence, and i was really impressed with the music videos which i had never seen before, especially how soon is now. classic footage.
