One bar was enough to generously do a 1970's vintage Filson cruiser jacket that had never been retreated. Took it outside on a 70 degree day and spread it out on a small table and allowed the direct sun to warm up the fabric to the point where it was quite warm to the touch, almost hot to the touch. Started rubbing the bar on the fabric, where it quickly melted, and then spread the wax out by hand. Did not do the fabric under the cape or inside the sleeves. Took about a half hour to complete, then hung the jacket out in the sun. Looks like it will turn out OK after it seasons for a day or two. No excessive odor from the wax, easy to apply.

Great but not enough for my whole jacket
For your reference: I am using this to treat my canvas trucker jacket. Jacket has not had any wax applied before. I finished about half of the jacket and ran out of wax. I would advise getting the bigger bar if you are doing the same. I would have liked it if they put a reference of how far the bar goes. Wax is great though.

Works good, pricy, use heat.
Like other have said this bar is not enough for a full jacket dry to waxed. The price is okay but by weight you are better off mixing your own, if you are doing a lot of clothing.I only needed it for touch up since my waxed jacket was starting to stink. I cleaned the jacket with diluted soap and iso. Then dried the jacket. Then this bar of wax was rubbed onto the jacket in one thin layer at a time. A heat gun (low settings) is a must, as you can see the wax liquify and soak into the cotten. A quick touch with my hand I can tell if it is enough wax. If it needed more another layer, if it was too much, I would heat the wax again and use a cotton towel to wick up the panel. I used half the bar to touch up my old waxed Jacket.Smell wise there is an sweet smell, likely from the beeswax. But there is also an old library smell of dust and paper, I don't mind it.

Try it
Works like it should. Use a heat gun or blow dryer to melt it in. Just rubbing it on will leave wax on everything it touches. Massive discoloration of clothes but didn’t care because they were on work pants.

Work great to touch up my Levi's
I happened into waxed denim from an internet purchase of some Levi's. I knew I liked the appearance of the pictures, they didn't say they were waxed, but after receiving them and researching I realized what I had received.I loved the jeans. I also read that most people recommend not washing them. The pair I got was a bit big, so I did wash them once on gentle, no soap, and still the waxed finished faded a bit in some spots, and some typical wear spots also appeared in the crotch area, above my back pocket where I keep my wallet, and along the outside seam down the outsides of the legs. My research on Youtube started about what I had and how to fix it.There were several options and this is the one I settled on. The bar is far smaller than I expected by eyeballing it, but it lasted much longer than I expected. I touched up the entire jeans, front to back, and could probably do so 5 more times with this small bar. That being said, if I order again I will probably order the larger one.The texture (tack) of the jeans I had were already cured. Adding this made them feel more oily and different-- the beeswax content is apparent by the tack. I froze them first to set, and chose not to do the blow dryer because I don't own one, and because I had no "white".Freezing first didn't get rid of the tack for me. So I decided to throw them in the dryer for about 5 minutes on low. This did a great job of sealing and removing the tack and smoothing it out and make it more like what I received originally from Levis. As some other reviewers stated, I couldn't see waxing an entire denim garment with this product. It seems like "dry" denim would take a tremendous amount of this product. I am interested in some of the other soft cream type products meant for this activity and if I try one I will compare it here. Finally, some people remarked about the smell. I consider this an extremely low fragrance product, and any scent that it does have seem very natural. It has an organic smell, not floral and not spicy, more of a muted saddle soap type smell, or a mild shoe cream smell. Maybe a potato-ish, leather-ish smell. The product contains no animal products, and is a mix of bees wax and plant based oils.

Waterproof your canvas!
I purchased Otter wax to help my canvas boots be water repellent. I live in the Pacific Northwest where it rains a lot. I found my boots are waterproof now so I can enjoy wearing them frequently without worrying about rain. So easy to use, high quality wax, used for two pairs of boots and still have some left over. It’s not sticky nor extremely greasy like mink oil. Good value making my boots look great.

works ok but very smelly
One bar covered most of a canvas jacket; I would bet there are spots that aren't well covered that will need touching up with a second bar. Where the coverage is good, it works great. Water beads and runs off the canvas. It was dark grey to start with so it doesn't look that different.Something to know though is that the smell is _intense_. Our whole mudroom has a strong piney scent now. It's not terrible when you adjust but makes me a little nauseous when I first walk into the room. I'm going to look for a different product to touch up further.

Warmth is needed
My 25 yo duster was no longer waterproof. After applying two Otter Wax Fabric Bars it feels just like it did when I bought it (waterproof, too). I discovered warmth is really helpful in spreading the material evenly. Recommend applying during the summer or (and this is going to sound strange) place the material you're treating on top of your clothes dryer while you are applying the bars.
