Surprisingly good monocular for the price. ($10)
Surprisingly good monocular for the price. ($10)More plastic than I hoped but it still offers very good viewing quality for a very lightweight set of optics. The Prism mounts appear to be aluminum, eyepiece assembly and 20mm barrel appeared to be plated plastic. Optical elements were probably reasonably good, coated plastic; but hey, I've been wearing plastic corrective lenses in my glasses for decades.Rubber eye cup sort of folds down; but even folded down to accommodate glasses the offset limits the field of view unacceptably. Plan on using it without glasses.Field of view and clarity in this 8x20mm unit compared favorably to the more expensive, much heavier and larger 10X40mm bak 4 glass monocular I bought for a spotting scope. There was less of a degradation than I expected due to the price and power difference, but it still is 8x as opposed to 10x.Very light and compact, wouldn't be noticeable in a backpack or pocket. I intend to use it for traveling by air when I expect to need optics for things like roof inspections or general spotting.I recommend. Probably can't beat this monocular for the price.

An ok novelty, not practical for even simple jobs.
There are two times I regularly need to see detail at a distance - When trying to read valve labels in the overhead at work, and identifying objects off the path while walking my dog.I don't need a high-quality optic for reading 1/2" lettering at 30 feet or checking if that red thing in the river is a dead body or a piece of garbage. If I were bird watching, shooting, stargazing, or anything else I would use something better and larger. This item works, but its angled form makes it impractical for carrying in a pocket. Image isn't great - which for the price I expected - but still, not great. If I had seen it before buying, I would not have bought it. As it is, it might come in handy once in a blue moon and I'm only out $10.

Just what I needed.
Cool little monocular that is perfect for what I was after. I work at a water taxi landing and am always straining my eyes to see boats coming in. I wanted something small that I can wear around my neck and see where the boats are. This is gonna help a lot. I had one that looked just like this about 20 years ago and used it all the time. This one isn't made as heavy duty as that one, but then what is today ? Nonetheless, It works and given the price....It'll do just fine. Thanks Amazon.

Great bargain for $10, but you get $10 optics.
I've used optics for over 60 years, and have seen the best, and worst. This is quite a value at $10, but the 4 stars are for the bargain and not the optics which are what I expected for $10. It does what it is meant to, but don't think you'll see high-contrast sharp images; look through Fujinons or Canons and you'll see why they cost 100s more. I bought this to keep ready in the car for checking out things in a hurry, and it does that very well.

nice for the price
This is nice and handy if you are out and need to see, and don't have your reading glasses. I like that it is portable and comes in its' own case. It is pretty basic, but for my purposes more than adequate. I use this kind of as a jewelers loop to look at jewelry i find at yard sales or thrift stores.

Great product for $10!
Truley pocket size. Fits perfectly in my tackle box drawer.Great product for price. Pros:LightweightEyepiece focus easy adjustable. Wrist strap to prevent dropping.Cons:Storage case made of (pleather?),with velcro closure tight fit, stays open a little on sides of flap, won't keep dust out.Would have given 5 stars if it included lens caps. Guess that's why they included a lens cloth. Probably pick up some rubber scope covers .

works good, great price.
possibly not using this correctly?magnification is 'ok' adjusting this thing really doesn't make a difference; When I put it up to my eye; I can see nothing; my eyelashes get in the way; I need to press it up into my lashes to see through this clearly. If I wrap my finger and thumb around the 'outer' eye piece to create a 'buffer', my fingers are too wide so I cannot adjust focus.

Decent scope, just enough magnification for what I need.
I work in a warehouse, and this provides *just* enough power to see about 25ft in the air. Only wish the power was a tad stronger, and possibly a bit larger. Overall, perhaps the best of the options available (size, power and money). I would say you can see roughly 10-25ft. Anything further or closer is a bit of a no-go.
