[Upgraded] POWERADD Slim 2 Most Compact 5000mAh External Battery 2.1A Ouput Portable Charger with Smart Charge for iPhones, iPad, Samsung Galaxy, HTC and More (Black)

I own five of these Poweradd Slim2 chargers.Recently, one of them stopped holding a charge.On Sunday 4/23/17, I emailed Poweradd customer service. I had a response from Poweradd the same day (and not an automated response) asking if I wanted a refund or a replacement. ON A SUNDAY. I have five of these, they are great compact chargers. Of course I wanted a replacement. By Friday 4/28/17, less than a week later, the replacement arrived. No cost to me, no forms to complete. I've been an Amazon customer for over 20 years. This is THE best customer service I have ever encountered from any Amazon seller. Simply perfect customer service.

I originally bought it concerned about the negative reviews, but I figured that for the price, it was worth the risk. What I didn't count on was that the company might actually stand behind their product or honor their 2 year warranty. Well, fears confirmed, the battery gave up the ghost after about a year and 4 months. But when I contacted the company, they had me run a few tests, and when they didn't fix it, they sent me a new unit free of charge. This is a good product and an even better company! 4 stars only because the battery died, but top honors to the company for honoring their warranty making it right.

I have quite a few 2200-2600 portable chargers that worked ok back in the days with iPhone 5. But after switching to 7 and above it doesn't provide even 1 full charge. So I'm sick of those. My husband always calls them peashooter battery chargers. So I wanted to find one that compact enough but can hold enough charge. This one fits the bill. I've used this for over a week. So far so good. I love the pink color so that I can find it easily in my purse. I love the little blue dots indicators that show you how much remaining power is left in the battery. I haven't used it to charge multiple times in one day cause I always recharge it as soon as I'm around an actual outlet so that I'll ever run out of power. In terms of people who complained that it's not a real lipstick size - i didn't have that expectation. Cause it's common sense - do the math - 5000 capacity will need a bit of volume of batteries. Overall I'm happy with this purchase.

Works great, so far (received June 1, 2018). I will update down the road if I have any issues, or as to the continued good experience with the functionality of this product, as my very first experience with Poweradd. Appearance wise, the unit is low profile and easy to stash in a fanny pack while working out. I also really like the blue lights that activate with pressing of the power button, to show the state of charge readiness.Update August 11, 2018: This unit died for no apparent reason 2 months later, but upon contacting Poweradd, I received excellent customer service. A replacement was sent and it's been working great. Hopefully this was simply a defective item as sometimes happens... I was impressed by Poweradd's standing behind this product. I will update in another 2 months.Update November 29, 2018: The replacement unit is still operational. Yay! I will update again after the first of the year sometime.Update December 1, 2018: This unit stopped working today. I check 3 different USB cords to make sure that they were not the problem. The unit shows a full charge but is not charging when I plug it into my iPhone. This is after less than 3 month's usage after being replaced once already for ceasing to function. Not happy! Not recommended.Update February 26, 2019: Have had a new replacement unit in my possession for approximately one week. I will update again, once this Power Bank Battery makes it to the 3 month mark with the hope that it surpasses that amount of time and beyond. Excellent customer service, and fingers crossed that this time I have received a non-defective unit. Two Star Upgrade for the customer service at this juncture with more to follow if unit works for a reasonable amount of time, this time.Update August 28, 2019: The unit is still operational since February 2019.

After fully charging this device (with 4 constant lights showing) and plugging it in to my Fire HD, it quickly discharged down to 1 light showing and only increasing the power to the Fire by about 12%. It was also EXTREMELY hot to the touch when I checked the charging. I am returning the item.Update: Hats off to the outstanding Customer Service at Poweradd. After my previous review they immediately contacted me and asked if they could send a replacement. Evidently I just received a lemon last time. This new one they sent is just as good as others indicated they had experienced. It does not get hot to the touch and appears to be giving the charge I expected. It is a good feeling little power pack and does not feel cheap at all. I am happy to say I am completely satisfied after going through the charge/discharge process twice.

Man, Woman or child, this is a perfect "lipstick" for your phone! I don't write reviews as soon as I get an item because I don't know if it truly is going to be a good product or not. Bought this 6 mos ago when I got a new phone and like every other one, it too has needed extra power on more than one occasion. What I love about this is that it's almost the same size as lipstick. Hence the references. A lot of the others I had compared with this were very bulky and I'm glad I didn't waste my money. This has been perfect speaking from a females POV. You can fit it into small and tiny purses that we use to go shopping, out all night dancing, or even if we need to have our phones for awhile when we are out sometwhere elegant. If a phone can fit in there, so can this! It's saved not just my phone but my husband's as well when we were gone longer than we expected and ran both our phones almost out. I bought the bright neon pink specifically for when I carry large purses, so I can easily find it which that has been helpful as well

We got a PowerAdd Slim2 in June 2017 in preparation for a trip to the US. We knew we were going to take lots of photos and wanted a booster for an iPhone. It worked a treat and kept us snapping through a tour of six States and, inevitably, Disneyland. Since then the battery on my wife's iPhone has got steadily worse, and we've been using the Slim2 pretty much constantly. Well, about two weeks ago it stopped working (this was after 15 months of faithful service). I was ready to just buy another, but I thought I would email PowerAdd first in case there was something I was doing wrong. They suggested one or two things to try, and when none of those worked they sent us a new one! Amazing service - just shows they take their two year guarantee very seriously.

This power bank has served me well. I often go a while without getting to charge my phone and I also have wireless in ear headphones that need charging frequently so I have this power bank in my pack pack and charge my gadgets on my commute. I have found this power bank very reliable as I always know if I need to charge the power bank as it shows how much charge is left. I recently purchased 3 slimline powerbanks, a bit like this one. One to stick to the back of each of my wall mounted guitars so I could have some subtle usb LED strips lighting them up at night. The powerbanks were £2 cheaper each than these. That turned out to be a mistake, all 3 would not work as per instruction and all 3 failed to work all together for some reason.So I learnt my lesson and this time I purchased one a bit more expensive, this one. I thought I would buy one then buy more later. The powerbank arrived quickly and is much larger than the other ones and only just fits behind my guitar but the increase in size means more power to enjoy the lights for longer.The powerbank charged very quickly and has a handy blue indicator on top to let you know how full the battery is. Mine has been slowly fading usb led lights for several hours on the back of my guitar and the indicator still has 75% battery life. There is a button on the side, if you press it, you get a display of the battery life left inside.I stuck the battery pack on the back of the guitar with Velcro so I can take it off to recharge it or I can run an usb charging lead to it on the wall.The unit is not as light as the previous ones I purchased but it has a bigger battery so more power, more power means bigger batteries means more weight. So overall I am happy with it, especially for what I want to use it for.The unit looks extremely durable, it really does, much better than the ones that did not work. I have purchased many many powerbanks for years and this is up there with the most durable expensive ones I have purchased.Overall very happy with this unit and now it’s time to light up the other 2 guitars!

This is the perfect little powerbank for me as it fits nicely in my handbag for on the go. It's actually my second one I have purchased as I gave my first one to my daughter. My mobile phone is pretty old now and the battery doesn't last long so this powerbank keeps my Samsung S6 charged until the end of the day. I can probably get two charges out of it and the powerbank itself recharges pretty quickly. I am happy with this product and would happily buy another one.

The output USB port is too high in its case, and the USB cable output doesn't fit tightly. The entire metal part of the USB cable does not fit snugly down into the Poweradd's USB port. So when you plug the cable in, you can see about 5mm of metal sticking out from the top of the PowerAdd. After a few weeks use the metal part of the cable has rocked and shaken to the point where the port now moves. The power output is affected. It switches on and off because it now has a loose connection internally. Bad design. Buy something else. (Photo shows USB cable in PowerAdd and competitor product, Anker. )
