Work perfectly in my laptop
It was a great quality hard drive I burned out two of them self are with my programming in my video game design stuff I'm using the exact same laptop for about 8 years now and I'm on my third hard drive that's not really meant for the hardcore complex stuff I probably should get a non-moving parts hard drive for that kind of stuff also being in a laptop and being portable doesn't help matters neither cuz I take it everywhere.

Round and round I go... and so does this Hard Drive (one and a half years old now).
I only use the Samsung SpinPoint 750GB in an external enclosure and then only for imaging my Laptops Hard Drive and it works wonderfully. Originally I had written some really bad stuff about this drive but I came to find that two of the Inateck Hard Drive Enclosures that I purchased, to adapt the Internal Hard Drive to External one, were bad (what's the chance of ordering two bad enclosures... and on the same day). I had thought the 750GB Samsung SpinPoint Hard Drive went kaput but I was wrong. Sorry 'bout that.

Great buy
Great little drive. I was going to order from Samsung but, at $149 plus shipping. This was a great buy.

Great!
2 years ago I bought the dell. Crapped the bed as soon as I got it. I tried going through Dell but of course they were obligated to start with possible issues from the bottom of the list for less money. They sent me 2 flash drives to load etc. Nothing. Was to point needed to send it in and they still wanted to talk to me. "Did you try unplugging it, and plugging it back in?" *sarcasm* I gave up and pushed it under my bed. My husband mentioned can get a few bucks for it to be refurbished. Decided before did anything I wanted to tinker with it. Everyone knew it was the drive (other than dell) so I popped the back off. What was there to lose at this point? Seen was as simple as replacing battery. I opened amazon and seen all too many of the same stories. Ordered refurbished drive and presto. Curiosity killing me I looked up current sales for laptop. New - $350. Refurbished - $550. Enough said...

poor effort all round
Pro's - There probably are some but for now,TBDCon's - Packed by a 12 year old. barely enough Styrofoam beads to cover the drive. Drive rattled around inside box. Ran HD Tune Pro error scan after formatting and errors showed up straight away. At this point I can not trust this drive to store data and will not bother with RMA due to the PTA that it is

Started clicking after less than 2 years of use
I used this drive heavily for streaming video files from running Plex Media Server and it seemed to not handle it well before long when it just crashed and started clicking. I believe the drive ran hotter than normal due to the media server running very frequently. The downside is ALL my data is lost and so far I was unsuccessful in recovering it. Due to the 5400 RPM speed, I would not recommend this drive for running disk intensive apps like Plex Media Server and should've upgraded my HDD before deciding to use it. However, I am still skeptical about why it did not last as long as I expected (5 or more years) and am wondering if these drives from Samsung were poorly designed due to the low offering price from Amazon sellers.

Order it to replaced exact one I had from a laptop. Everything works so far and is perfect.
Had this exact hard drive previously on my laptop, I was scared that it had died on me but got one of those usb hdd case things and saw that everything was working fine just that my laptop had some broken parts that needed replacing. I just decided to keep the old hdd inside the case and use it as a external storage or something. For the new one I just installed and everything is good will be giving it to my son to play mine craft and other things. For the price and everything I'm happy with the product.

I like Samsung drives and this one worked flawlessly
I like Samsung drives and this one worked flawlessly. I paired it with an inexpensive USB3.0 enclosure and plugged it into a battery operated portable wireless network device. After I filled it full of movies and videos, I connected my family's tablets to the network in the car and and I didn't have to answer the dreaded "Are we there yet?" question for our entire 4 hour road trip. It was worth it's weight in gold that day, I can tell you!
