The Daily Walk Bible: New International Version

New Comments: I just bought another case of the Daily Walk Bibles (ISBN 13: 978-1-4143-8061-2) for the men I counsel at Skyview Counseling on Maui. I also use them for our "Band of Brothers, Maui" Bible Study at Hope Chapel. If you read my comments below you will note that this Bible has gone through a lot of formatting changes. At first the Daily Walk Bible was really good, then it had some problems (that I mention below) and now I believe Tyndale finally got things right!Here is what changed... 1) Tyndale made the DATES (that tell you when to read the Scriptures) in about 60+ point font. It makes it soooo nice to be able find where you are supposed to be reading - no more hunting - it's BIG and Clear (YEAH!!!!!!!!). 2) Tyndale also put the "Overview and Insights" at the FRONT of the required reading - again no more stumbling over side bars and being thrown off track. The overview and insights make the reading so much more enjoyable when it is in the front of the daily reading. Yeah Tyndale!!!! All the men I work with love the new formatt. This is a great Bible for those wanting to develop spiritual habits and to grow spiritually. NLT is a wonderful translation for those starting out in their Walk with Christ. Tyndale ... thank you so much for all the hard work you put into this new edition of the Daily Walk Bible. Like at the wedding at Cana - you brought out your best wine for us to enjoy. Thank you!Past Comments: Ok I have been reading the Old and New versions of the Daily Walk Bible for maybe 10+ years. I recommend it to my friends and often give out copies to my clients. However, I have to say that I like the OLD version of the Daily Walk over this newer version. My Reasons are... #1: The primary purpose of THIS Bible is to help people make reading their Bible a daily discipline. With the old version - the DATE you are reading was clearly stated at the top of each page. If you know the day's date - you are good to go! However, with the new Daily Walk Bible you have to hunt for the date you want to read. This may seem like a small thing but it is a obstacle that is very irritating. A better format would be to put the page number at the bottom of the page and put the date of the reading at the top of the page. Also I don't know why the "Walk #XXX" is in HUGE BOLD Letters but how about putting the date in that spot as well. #2: With the old version the overview and insights were at the beginning of each day's reading. This was great because it helped the reader to understand the background of a passage and gave insights for what to look for in the passage. With the new version the insights are placed within the passage in special text boxes. This is very annoying! It feels like you are tripping over something while on a beautiful walk with GOD. Tyndale - please put the overview/notes back in the beginning!In this case, the OLD Wine Skins are better that the New Wine Skins.

Thoroughly enjoyed this translation of Gods Word! It was fairly easy to keep up with the readings and I liked the commentary at the beginning of each Scripture reading. I will probably read this again in the future.

Excellent devotional and educational tool for everyone. Will keep you walking in faith focused on and learning more about our God the Lord our Savior Jesus Christ.

This Bible gives the word of God, not someone's commentary on what they think it says. The small comments on the day's reading, as well as the devotional stay with what is written and how it applies to me today, often simply asking a question to consider.The preview chart gives an overview of the events contained in the day's readings, which is quite helpful in following the various generations. I was surprised that it started with only one chapter per day, wondering how would we ever get the whole Bible into one year's reading, but then at the third day it began grouping the readings in such a way as to tell the whole story in two to three or four chapters per day (e.g., the story of Abraham has several days grouped by the stage of his walk was God, then Isaac is completed within two chapters in one day). This sure is an improvement on an arbitrary read of so many chapters a day, which could end up dividing the story line so as to lose continuity.This is a new experience for me, as I have for years followed a Bible reading that included both Old and New Testament readings each day. I like doing it either way. Combining New and Old gives some insight into the continuity of Scripture, but doing a beginning to end read gives insight into how it might have looked over the ages as the story developed.I have the paper back version which I like very much. It is light weigh and I can read it at the table or in bed at night. Also easy to carry along if going out to doctor appointments or other situations where I will have some time on my hands.The page paper is very thin, but sturdy enough and the typeface is very legible, which is important for me as my old eyes have difficulty discerning letters and words sometimes.

This simple kindle buy has changed my life! This one year bible study has filled me with nourishment and really started to help me uncover the heart of God.First off this book is written and laid out brilliantly for the Kindle for IPhone App. It is very easy to navigate and it syncs across all your devices! Super convenient!2ndly it reads very well. What I mean is you do not get bored because each day has great commentary prior to the passages that you will read. They really help fill in the gaps you might have questions about and also have amazing daily quotes that really get you thinking on your own!Some may not like the chronological nature as this does read the Bible through front to back with no skipping around, however the commentary prior to the passages as mentioned help it all make sense. Plus parts of the Old Testament like Numbers can get very repetitive and these daily remebrenances and pre-cursors help you understand why you are about to read, what you are about to read.I read more than the one day alloted because it reads so well but this helps on days you forget which lets be honest we all do! God knows;)Finally I'd just like to say I'm only at the beginning of March this year but this book has made it so easy to stay committed to my one year Bibke read through and God willing it will continue to do so!!God's blessings and love to you all in your journey and I'll see you on the other side!

It has been a great experience: having the opportunity to daily meet our precious God, give us the way to intimate with our Heavenly Father, to know Him better and also to know His perfect will for our lives.

Received the Bible today, on a Sunday😊. We have been waiting to have one since 1.5years. Read a few chapters already because of a beautiful couple in Christ who lend theirs for sometime. May you all be encouraged by the Word of God and the commentary. Delivered with proper covering and secured in hard packaging. Not a single scratch. So happy. Praise God 🙏.

I bought this book online on 20 July to read on my kindle app. I haven’t been able to even start reading it as it’s taking a long time to download. I was frustrated but found it quicker to download if I didn’t access anything else on my iPad. So yes I’m able to enjoy reading it now. I’m so relieved n looking forward to b able to read through the bible. Yay!,

I heard about this bible while listening to Living on the Edge and thought 'that sounds interesting and helpful', so decided to buy it for my kindle paperwhite. I'm really glad I did - it makes reading the bible in a year manageable and I find the introduction and 'insights' very interesting and informative. I also really like the inspirational quote for each day.I would highly recommend this bible to anyone - those who've never read the bible before will find it invaluable and it is written clearly with no old fashioned grammar/sentence structures. Those who are seasoned bible readers will also find it invaluable as it has opened my eyes to what I may have missed in previous readings.

Brilliant work by the publishers. It will help people who are indecisive of their daily bible reading of what to read and where to start. Simple english that even a naive english reader can comprehend.
