Yanni In Words: A Memoir

being a Yanni fan i just had to buy this book, what a remarkable story, he certainly lays himself bare and you come to understand the complex life this man has led, pain, heartache, triumph and a driven desire to get his music heard. What remarkable parents he has who sent him to America to get a better education as they did the his brother and sister, at what must have been a heartbreaking decision for themselves knowing how close Greek families are. But without this selfless decision would the world ever have heard Yanni's music?

I love Yannis music so I wanted to know how he came to this part of his journey.Very informative.Very interesting.

Personal addition to my library. Very well written. He was forthcoming about his whole life, and all that he endured to get his music recognized and appreciated. I'm a fan, and have been for a long time.

I am personally a die heart fan of Yanni.For me,this book is a holy text for every soul who nurtures amd dreams in music.The book teaches us the way of life beyond hatred,conflict and devastation.It teaches us to love.And most importantly,it shows us that bravery doesn't come with a Kalashnikov.It actually takes birth through the ability to create music and live with it that unites our civilizational existence.A must read for every musician.

I am very glad that I found this book of Yanni! .It contains lots of wisdom and reading the book was nearly as pleasurable as listening to his music (actually I always listened to his music as I read the book :) ). I had several AHA moments while reading this book and found it to be very inspiring.Some people have complained about that he describes himself being in very silly situations. I think this is as important as mentioning his success stories in order to get to know him in depth, otherwise the book would just be like a very long CV.Regarding the state of the book, it was as good as new. It is only that the first two pages got separated as I was going through the book but that's it (actually I used them later to mark my reading progress :) ) . Otherwise I would not guess that it was used.

Yanni in Words is an autobiographical account of Yanni's life. I found it to bean enjoyable saga of Yanni's personal life. I am a big Yanni fan and relate so much to the Spirit and Soul of his music. With that in mind, I was very interested in finding out a little about this talented musician. I was so appreciative of the simplistic way the Yanni's story unfolds. I got a glimpse into the life of a man who is naturally gifted and talented. He is also a man who cares very deeply for humanity. I enjoyed reading about his day to day struggles, his fierce determination to break into the music industry with fresh and innovative music ideas, as well as the sharing of his philosophy on life. I am grateful especially for his sharing of how he taps into the creative force. There are also excerpts from Linda Evans (Dynasty) who he dated for nine years which I enjoyed reading about. If you are a fan of instrumentals one should try his music, it's very original and spiritually enlightening. It transcends any genres so don't try to pigeon hole his music. The book in and of itself helps you to see why. I often think abaout musicians and how much they give to the public in order to enrich, entertain and heal our lives; Yanni is one such entertainer/music therapist and I am truly grateful for his music as well as the honest account found within the pages of this book.
