Excellent book for professional and personal growth
I use this book for the book club I am chairing among many women professionals and executives. Each chapter is relatively short and one build upon another with so many pragmatic suggestions that benefits me both professionally and personally. For example, I love the concept about one needs to spend time working on a "future me" whatever it may be. Often times, we are bombarded with daily chores and to-dos and lose sight of where we want to go in life as an individual. This is an excellent book and I highly recommended.

Witty, relatable, inspiring!
Ended up reading this title thanks to a work book club. This is the fifth professional development book I’ve read this year and it’s absolutely the best I’ve read yet. As the title says the author does a great job at being relatable, witty, honest, vulnerable and truly inspiring. Can’t wait to take what I’ve learned from this and apply it not only in my professional life but my personal life too!

A Courageous Piece of Work By a Master Storyteller
While I've heard numerous businesspeople proclaim that emotion doesn't belong in the workplace, the best leaders -- and the best leadership coaches -- know that nothing could be further from the truth. The reality is that not only should we not avoid or ignore our emotions, but we should be more aware of, and leverage the power of, them! In this insightful and engaging work, one of the world's leading executive coaches, Peter Bregman (author of two of my favorite leadership/productivity books: "18 Minutes" and "Four Seconds"), shows us, through his masterful storytelling, how we can lead with emotional courage. As an executive coach and adjunct professor of leadership myself, "Leading With Emotional Courage" will now be among my top recommended resources for my coaching clients and graduate students.

Some Interesting Perspectives
I was forced to read this book for work. There are some interesting perspectives that gives you something to think about how to affect change in your organization. Some of it is common sense. There is also some concepts that are weird hippy perspectives. Overall, its an ok read. I wouldn't say it is the best book to find concepts for how to get your organization to work as a team and accomplish your mission.

Missing Link: Feelings and actually feeling them
I started following Peter's work because my daughter, a director of a clothing company found his way of putting his ideas across practical and relevant. This book follows the pattern. It is insightful, readable, practical and through the many stories helps it come alive. It's so true that most leaders by this time have been through so many development programs that they know in their heads exactly what they should be doing. Peter hits the nail on the head that the problem is putting it all into practice and the obstacle is the feelings that triggers. Peter is not only telling stories about other people, he makes himself very vulnerable in the book and that I find very inspiring for me in my own life. It's a lesson to apply in leadership. The book also gives a very nice framework to make this applicable in a manageable way that's not overwhelming.

Master storyteller and coach
I just realized I never wrote a review for this book and it deserves one! Peter is a master storyteller in person and in writing. His anecdotes are spot on...relevant, concise and they beautifully exemplify the teaching he is sharing. He is extremely self-aware and self effacing as many of his stories are based on his own mistakes as he strives for emotional courage in his own work. This is a short entertaining read with a strong punch of actionable and useful techniques for managing and coaching. I’ve taken a course with Peter and read each of his books and I still learn something new in each interaction.

Excellent Book. Get it!
I am an executive coach and I read to hone my skills and learn new techniques from the best. Peter Bregman has my utmost respect as a coach and as an author. He excels at both. It's not often that I read self-improvement books that I just can't put down, but this one tops the list. A real page-turner in many respects.

A challenging and deeply insightful book
What I loved most about this book was the honesty and emotional courage that Peter himself displayed in the content of the book. Leaves you feeling that you have had a deep conversation with a close friend who was prepared to bear their soul with all the risks that takes in terms of acceptance at a deeply human level. Well worth the read!

Not about conversations, not about leading with courage
The book is very simplistic, too simplistic. Not worth a read or a door stop. The author takes generally understood concepts like visioning, personal accountability and simply spins his story in there. Dont understand how this was almost a 5 star read.
