Tales from the Zombie Road: The Long Haul Anthology

I saw a posting for this anthology on Simpson's FB page and wondered how I missed it. I immediately sought it out and started in. It was good mix of those who succumb & those who survived and you get to hear about some people who are already familiar. A few of these new characters deserve a spin-off too.

This is a book of a great compilation of writers. More…the stories just begun and give a taste of what would make good books. Sad stories, angry stories, hopeful stories, educational stories, and some just plain weird. Each author is in their own right a delight to read, and a shout out to the lady trapped in the bathroom. The illustrations’ and artwork is an unexpected bonus. The stories go off the theme of Zombie Road, and the fall & rise of the world. Pick up a copy, you won’t regret it.The book is dedicated to a great cause the Wounded Warriors Project, and commend everyone who purchased the book.

I read End of World stories when I need to wind down. Often I want action with likable, real people This book delivers both. The book tells the story of a good man who will do anything to save his family. He is a few lbs over his army weight and no longer feels a leader or hero but people turn to him when TSHTF. His internal dialog is a hoot yet he gets the job done...A fun enjoyable read.

I am hooked on this series. I’ve read plenty of zompoc books and have to admit this one of my favorites. The author makes us wait between installments but from my experience, that is a good thing most of the time. I know the next chapter will not be rushed. So, to the author I say take your time and deliver another great book down the road. Don’t rush it and give us crap. We will patiently (somewhat) wait for you, Gunny, and the rest.

Normally I’m not crazy about zombie short stories, but the Tales from the Zombie Road: The Long Haul Anthology was pretty good. Like most anthologies, this e-book suffers from unevenness but the majority the stories are excellent. I learned after I came to this website to write a review that there is a Zombie Road series, I like this book well enough that I will start the series. You cannot beat books about zombies and long-haul truckers.

What a great ride the thought and prose of these a mature writers is unparalleled in its genre. The artwork is quirky but awesome, some of the greats and post-apocalyptic fiction and zombie fiction are in this as well as some unknown but soon to be known amateur authors. 100% of the proceeds go to the Wounded Warrior Project that is totally awesome in my book and I would happily pay more for this hopefully more to come

As a fan of Zombie Road and zombies in general this was an awesome Easter egg hunt. Loved seeing the effort put into this for our soldiers and looking forward to the next one.

This is a excellent read and we'll worth the money , even more so because the total sale goes to the Wounded Warrior fund.I enjoyed each short story and the illustrations that were included. There were stories from writers I follow and new ones that I read for the first time.I will be looking up most of the new authors works and looking forward to new ZA stories. Thanks , was not disappointed!

What a great collection of zombie shorts by published Indie authors and some run of the mill lovers of zombies. As an added bonus, all the money raised by sales of this enjoyable read will be donated to The Wounded Warrior organization. It's a win win, you get great stories plus help a worthy cause. I highly recommend this collection to anyone who loves the zombie genre.

It's perhaps unsurprising that the Zombie Road universe has its own fandom, and one big enough to put out anthologies -for all the dubious politics the books are quite addictive. This collection has some good ideas, some so-so ones and some very amateurish writing. But some great illustrations too.

Really enjoyed this anthology, great writers, I've found some new favourites! Plenty of action and lots of great characters and different types of zombies!

Some excellent, some good, one awful (more spelling mistakes in a page and a half than most full books). Definitely worth a read though.

Really enjoyable collection of zombie based short stories written by wonderfully talented pro and amateur writers. And it's all for such a good cause. Give it a read: you won't be disappointed.
