Minimalist, beautiful, but really big
I've purchased a few kitchen scales off Amazon before to use as gifts or for personal use. This is definitely the most beautiful scale I've ever owned. But should you buy it?HIGHLIGHTS- Beautiful design. The scale is flush across the entire surface, unlike other products with the weighing platform separated from the display. This makes storage much easier. However, if you're weight a large bowl than it could cover the display.- Carries 12 lbs per Amazon title. However, the literature says 11 lbs. Regardless, this is a pretty high number for a scale of this size.- Reasonably accurate. I tried weighing several products and the result was always accurate to within 0.1 oz.- Touch screen buttons are responsive and easy to use.CONCERNS- This scale is much larger than comparable products. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, just something to be wary of for storage reasons. At 10.1 inches, it's the longest kitchen scale I've ever used.Overall, I would highly recommend this kitchen scale if you have the storage space to accommodate its size.

Great Kitchen Scale
I was surprised y the other reviews of this product. I found many to be quite negative. I did not have the same experience with this product. my experience was very positive. I needed a second digital scale at my weekend home. I have started measuring out my food portions to keep track of my calorie intake. I had a digital scale at one house and wanted one at the other house. I found that this scale worked just as well. i was easily able to set the scale to zero. It did not take long like one reviewer said. I generally place the container on the scale before I turn it on. When i turn it on it immediately zeroed. I also at one point need to measure several things and used the tare button to zero out and again it only took a second or so. I also tried weighing the same item multiple times and it came up with the same measurement each time. The only think that I had an issue with is that the directions did not give me information on how to turn the scale off. It just said it would turn off on its own in 1-2 minutes. I found that if I lightly touched the power button for a 2 count it would turn off. If I pressed to hard it thought I was trying to weigh something. I like the fact that this scale has a tempered glass top. it makes it easy to clean. My other one is stainless steel but I have all sorts of marks and streaks that constantly develop on it. Overall I like the scale.

Functional and accurate
This is my 3rd small kitchen scale I have purchased for my home business and the first time I have tried Kinzi. I need a small scale to weigh dried flowers & herbs as well as beeswax, oils and body butters on a daily basis. I like that this scale is thin & long (6 3/4" x 9 1/2"). It fits very well into a kitchen drawer. It allows me to place a good size bowl on the base and still view the numbers. I also love that it takes 2 AAA batteries (first set provided with purchase of scale). These batteries are easily replaceable and inexpensive. I do not yet know how long the batteries last. It is an accurate scale. I verified and am satisfied that when there is more than 5g on the scale it measures correct weight. The scale reader screen shows weight in oz., lbs., g and ml, fl.oz. AND a lb+oz. settings. The screen is very clear and easy to read. Use the right tare button to zero the scale after placing a bowl on the scale. Hold the power button down for a count of 2 or 3 and it will shut off before it times out.A few things to consider in purchasing this scale1. It only weighs ounces to the tenth (so 0.0 reading) and weighs only whole grams.2. Also, as the pictures show, the 2g of lavender didn't register until I put the bowl on the scale and added them to the bowl. It's a nuisance more than a deal breaker.3. The scale shuts itself off earlier than I would like. It dims the display 30 seconds of no use and shuts off 1 minute after no use. It seems to stay on longer if you are using it so as long as you are putting ingredients in you should be safe.

An accurate and reliable tool for the calorie conscious
It seems that everyone around me is getting more health conscious. I've given in to peer pressure and decided to join them. One thing I definitely noticed is that portion size is out of control. Did you know that a "large potato" is defined as 8-12 oz... not the biggest one you can find? Well, I probably did know that, but i didn't know what an 8-12 oz potato looked like. (There isn't a calorie counter alive that hasn't shoved so much pasta into measuring cup that it comes out looking like a hockey puck) Enter the Kinzi Digital Scale. It's a cool little device. It's shaped nicely with plenty of surface (About 8 inches by 10 inches) area for large food items, or tucks nicely behind the knife block in a corner. It runs on 2 AA batteries that are included in the package. It measures in Grams, Ounces, Pounds, Pounds & Ounces, Fluid Ounces, and Milliliters. (and here I thought fluid ounces were a measure of volume - shows what I know). It weighs up to 12 pounds and claims to be accurate down to the gram. This scale is really easy to use. One button turns the power on and zeros out the scale. The other button cycles through the units of measurement. since it's a flat, tempered-glass surface, it's easy to clean. In order to put it to the test, I tried weighing the same apple multiple times in multiple ways. I'm pleased to report that I get the same result, down to the gram when I weigh the same object multiple times. I also got the same result when I placed a plate on the scale, zeroed it out, and weighted my original apple. So, for you sciencey people, I declare this scale reliable. It's sleek looking and easy to read. It seems pretty sturdy, but I haven't really put it through any endurance testing. I'm sure at some point, my kid will. I'll let you know if it breaks. To sum up portion size matters and this scale is a reliable tool to keep myself honest.
