Early Rock Instrumentals: Guitar Play-Along Volume 92 (Guitar Play-along, 92)

I listened and played these songs way back then. I had forgotton most because I stopped playing but now it was great to relearn these gold pieces and even play along with the CD . this makes practice fun.

Apache- The background music is cheesy and the transcription is wrong!Telstar- Most of the melody is not written out! Only the bridge.Tequila- None of the melody is written out! Only the chords.I wanted to learn some of these songs and start performing them in coffee houses, etc. I don't now if I can do that with this CD.I know Hal Leonard can do a better job because I have purchased their products before. There were lazy with this one.

This books is great - and it is one of two early rock book-cds in my collection (the other being The Ventures). Highly recommended for intermediate guitarists who love that Fender, 60's sound.

Easy to use. I'm just a little above a beginner and I was able to play the songs in this book.

the songs are basic and so famous in rock music history and I really enjoyed a lot while I just listen to the songe in the CD.Enjoy!

This is a good way to learn to keep time and play along using the basic lead instruction provided in the tab.Much like other play along books in this series. Worth the price!

I own a few of these Hal Leonard Guitar Paly-Along series Volumes and overall they are all pretty good products. The backing tracks are excellent and the transcriptions seem accurate. However, I'm a little disappointed with this one because I bought it primarily for the TAB for Apache and Sleepwalk. I'm very satisfied with the Apache TAB and track but I'm extremely disappointed with the Sleepwalk TAB. I think that it was a very poor decision to include an arrangement for Sleepwalk that requires Open C6 tuning. This may be faithful to Santos and Johnny's original pedal steel version of the song, but this product is for the electric guitar and tuning to Open C6 just to play this one tune is not very practical. It would have been much better if they would have included a different arrangement that used standard tuning such as the Shadow's or Venture's versions. For this reason, I'm giving it a slightly lower rating.

You learn the song by reading and practicing the music. Unless your a trained musician I think you would do better to find an online tutorial of the songs with a teacher who shows you the fingering. I can read music but a the online tutorials show you a lot of tricks that you won't get from a book.

i received the book excluding the cd that was supposed to be included. i have returned the book & have asked for a refund not impressed at all.
