The Rite of Spring (Dover Miniature Scores: Orchestral)

Just be aware that these really are MINIATURE scores. This is good for a score study, but just keep in mind that the print is very small. But if you're alright with that then go for this. It's wonderful that they can make scores like this available for so cheap.

This book was one of multiple required for one of my college classes and I think the formatting, size and print for this series are clear, convenient and efficient. However, I was disappointed when my package arrived all torn up and abused, and all the books I received that were supposed to be brand new were partially damaged when I opened the package. From the pictures, it doesn't seem like much damage, but as a book lover, my heart broke when I saw these damaged spines, especially since these books are going to be part of my lifelong collection as a musician.

If I were really going to study this I'd want the larger version, but it is quite nice.

This score of the Rite is useful if portability is important or necessary. I ordered it because I had some traveling to do and wanted something as small as possible to carry with me while studying and listening. It is just fine during the chamber sections but gets difficult to read and follow when the entire orchestra is playing. A useful tool nonetheless and it did come in handy on my trip.

The score becomes incredibly difficult if not impossible to read on later pages when the music becomes denser. Obviously, it's a great price, but I think I'll spring the extra cash and opt for Boosey and Hawkes engraving in the future.

the note heads are a bit small for my eyes. Print quality is good.
