Great Cooktop; very versatile and powerful at a fair price! If I had another kitchen, I'd buy 2
This is a really great cooktop that is well designed, laid out, and extremely functional -- also very easy to use and install.Burners:The center burner is powerful for quick boiling and the 2 simmer (small) burners are great for long slow cooks like tomato sauce or soups etc. Unlike our previous cook top, the simmer setting truly is a simmer; it doesn't boil whatever you're cooking on the lowest setting so you can leave sauces and soups on for long periods of time like in a slow cooker. The two other "medium" burners are great for things that you want to get up to a high temperature quickly: things like grilled cheese, pancakes - or for searing meats or frying eggs (the smaller burners will also do the trick just not as quickly).Cleaning:The grates just lift off with very little effort to provide easy access for cleaning the burners and/or the grates. Also the knobs come off easily for cleaning when you're making a greasy mess. Other reviewers have mentioned a discoloring of the stainless steel after doing some hot cooking; I have experienced none of that whatsoever -- I think Bosch may have fixed that problem because I've done a lot of cooking over the last few weeks with zero discoloration and no cleaning challenges.Auto-lighting:The cooktop lights very quickly automatically and we've had no "misfires". I did purposely blow out burners a couple of times and it automatically re-lights them.Deficiency:One MINOR complaint (minor because I don't think it will ever affect me): When you're running ALL 5 burners at full throttle, the regulator doesn't have quite enough capacity to allow enough gas through for them to all truly function at 100%: they all turn a bit orange and wavey since there isn't quite enough gas. I have tried to imagine any and every cooking situation I will be in, and I can't think of a time where all 5 burners will be going full throttle -- there simply isn't enough room behind a cooktop for more than one person - and you'd need at least 2 to tend to 5 boiling or searing pots simultaneously. It's got plenty of capacity for a few simmer burners, a full throttle main burner, and medium - medium burners.Luck (Karma?)Before ordering this cooktop, we went to the appliance store to buy the weekend before we had installers scheduled. The rude manager ridiculed and laughed at us for not coming weeks earlier; then tried to sell us a lower quality Electrolux display model for over $1300. I thought we were in a pickle and would have to buy it, but couldn't get over his snottiness and rude comments -- so instead of buying it then and there, we went home to decide whether or not we would be better off rescheduling the installers as opposed to doing business with a jerk. I decided to piddle around online and look at reviews - and we lucked out. We found this cooktop for under 900 bucks and had it delivered 2 days later; in plenty of time for the installers. SCORE!Extras:We bought a lodge griddle to go with it, and it sets quite nicely on the grates and works well once you figure out how to get the simmer burner and the medium burner on the same sized flame (since they are different sized burners, it's not as easy as putting both on "medium" heat). Lodge LDP3 Double Play Reversible Grill/Griddle, 9.5" x 16.75"Lodge LDP3 Double Play Reversible Grill/Griddle, 9.5" x 16.75"No wonder this cooktop continues to show up at the top of nearly every ranked list of gas cooktops.

Great Stovetop So Far
We have had this stove top for about a month and we love it. It cooks great, is easy to keep clean and we have experienced none of the issues noted by other reviewers. I do, however, have one complaint. The serial number appears only on the bottom of the stove top. Because our installer did not note the number before installing the unit and because the number is now inaccessible, I have not been able to register it for warranty purposes. I called Abt Electronics, the vendor and it was not able to help me because it had failed to scan its serial number before shipping and, thus, could not match the vendor serial number with the manufacturer's. Bosch was even less helpful insisting that it could not track the unit's serial number against the vendor's. This whole problem could be avoided by Bosch adding a bar code to its warranty card that would correspond with the unit's serial number or by placing the serial number in a more conspicuous place (i,e. the shipping label). Placing it only on the bottom of an unit which is designed to be installed into a counter top is just plain stupid.

BIG burner - Uneven Heat
I bought dish washer and i became a fan of BOSCH. Bought this stove to replace my Frigidaire (4 burner) and made a BIG mistake!!!!. This perticular product is CHEAPER on Amazon because its Big Burner do not heat the pan in the middle and takes LONGER to cook food. My old stove (Frigidaire) was more efficient in cooking that this piece of garbage. If possible i want the burner to be replaced with something more efficient!!!! (if that is anyway possible)

Looks nice, glad it has metal knobs because they get ...
I chose this model because of its low profile under the countertop. It is a replacement. Looks nice, glad it has metal knobs because they get hot. You have to use a hot pad to touch them if cooking in front on a high heat or a long cook time. It does scratch easy. But perhaps they all do. the cleanup is easy. I hope this lasts as long as my last cooktop 30 years. The grates allow ample space between the flame and bottom of pan. I think it takes longer for the pans to heat up and food to cook. It is taking time to get to know how how the cooktop cooks and where the proper flame adjustment needs to be. One of burner caps has marks on it resembles water marks. Not sure what caused it as I've only used soap and water. Overall it looks nice, is easy to clean and it's low profile under the counter made it a fit for me.

Not Disappointed with my Bosch!
We purchased this cooktop because we are so impressed with our Bosch dishwasher and we are not disappointed. It looks great and cooks great. The burners adjust continually from very high to very low, unlike my last cooktop that would not adjust to a true simmer low.I was a bit worried after reading some of the reviews about stainless discoloration and small size. Not to worry! I've cooked on this cooktop daily for about 6 weeks, and splattered grease all over it many times. Still looks brand new. I've never used all 5 burners at the same time but I believe it would easily accommodate my pans. In the photo below, the large skillet has a 14 inch diameter. The guys who installed it said something about the gas line being in the wrong side but that didn't seem to be a real issue. I use a spray "gas range degreaser" by Weiman once or twice a week.

GREAT! Burners are consistent
So far, GREAT! Burners are consistent. Don't go out on simmer. Looks great. I read all the problems people were having with browning on the stainless so I cleaned it with Barkeepers Friend before I used it and as I thought, no browning. I assume there is a factory coating to protect the stainless that must be browning up.Only problem I have is the left and right knobs are a little in the way when I use my large Lodge griddle. But not unworkable.
