They do work most of the time
I've followed the directions and have slowly set up my plants to these watering stakes. I watch each one carefully before starting up another one. I had a peace lily and a Chinese evergreen set up and working well. I set up the anthurium and noticed the saucer kept filling up with water, it was syphoning the water too well. It is drying out and I will try setting it up again with one of the stakes. I'm not sure if it was watered too well when the stake was set up that had that happen. I'm going on vacation and I want to make sure the plants are all doing well on this system. Sometimes the stake doesn't do anything so I have to go through all the steps again. I found that when the water level of the container goes down I have to go through all the steps again, I just can't put more water in the container. I have two months to see if I can safely leave all my plants on this system. It's good for keeping the plants hydrated, I just don't know if I can leave them for two weeks and find them alive when I get back.Update: In a few days the plants have syphoned so much water their saucers are full and the soil is soaked. They will drown this way.

Use in a big pot
These stakes pull in a lot of water. They pull in about 10 times as much as Blumat. If you have a small pot, drowning the plant is a real risk if you have poor drainage. If you have a large plant, you just need one of these to water. There will be a learning curve, but they seem to be good value for the buck. Two months later, a large rubber plant is thriving with just one spike in a 12 inch pot. Consumes half liter in a week. I add water soluble fertilizer to the water and the plant has new leaves. Increased rating for 4 to 5 stars.

Cheap product - poor quality - but does what it's supposed to do
A flimsy inexpensive product copying the much higher quality and much more expensive original Blumat watering system. You get what you pay for!

Works Great!
The Siphons and caps dont need to be soaked after the first time, just fill the spikes cap it and stick the ends in your water container. (I used elastics and a bamboo skewer to hold them at the bottom. The Siphons work great, I was having trouble watering my indoor 7 gal plants since the water would run through and puddle while the edges stayed dry. These spikes solved the problem with slow steady watering. So good I'm going to buy more in the spring for my greenhouse plants. definately worth it.

Some work...
I'm thinking I will upgrade to the fancier version. These.were.a little more testy than I was expecting. But some did work for a while. Definitely needed to place water well below bottom level of pot and it would quit working if I decided to water plant from the top as well.

Have to watch these carefully (can overflow)
I had bought a similar set from another company, but they were no longer available. So I bought these instead. The problem with this set is that you need to keep an eye on them. They will work fine for a few days, then all of a sudden they seem to set up a siphon and overwater the plant. If you’re not careful, the water will overflow the platter or catch basin under the plant. I have been careful not to have the water source above the level of the plant, but this still seems to happen occasionally.

No longer reliable
I just purchased these for the third time and they have changed their materials. The plastic tubing is a lot less firm, it is susceptible to kinks and twists that can mess up water flow. I noticed this while setting them up the other day and I was careful to make sure the tubes were straightened. It's been 3 days and I noticed one of my plants was wilting and dry. The watering stake didn't work. I'm resetting it now and hoping it will work when I put it back into the plant. I went around checking the others and half of them are not working. I also have 24 or so of the older version, they have been working for a year when used as instructed, no issues at all. Now I will have to keep a close eye on these new stakes which defeats the purpose. I don't want to have to closely check my plants on a daily basis. I like checking and refilling the water bottle weekly, that has always been enough. I can't buy these again and that's disappointing, I was considering another order before I realized the issue today.I added a photo, the stakes continue to fail. The new tubing has imperfections that interfere with the flow of the water. I’m going to see if it’s possible to change out the tubing. Definitely buy from another company.

Most of my plants wilted over the holidays...
I used this watering system over my holidays, most of my plants wilted however, which does not speak for the product itself... Assembling it and installing is also not easy. I do not recommend this product.

Useless
Useless: devices didn't suck water to the plants, a friend came in to check my olace and saved the plants from drying dead. Don't count on them

These Are Tricky & Inconsistent. Unreliable.
The spikes are large, so they can transfer a large amount of water quickly. However, this also means that the plant can be overwatered easily. The water source needs to be above the spikes for the transfer to occur. I needed to create suction in the spike so that water would be drawn in through the tube. If the spike drains completely and I later add water to the basin, without the pressure in the spikes, there is no suction., so no water passes through. I do not consider these reliable. They either overwater or do not water at all.If anyone has figured out how to get it right every time, please share!

Pessimi prodotto inutile
