Perfect fit (XS)
Madeline Sophia (Maddie) is a mixed breed pup. She is Chihuahua, Pomeranian, Poodle (small), Miniature Schnauzer, Dachshund, Pekingese, Maltese, and Supermutt (thanks Embark). She’s about 1.5 years old, and weighs 13-14 lbs. Her neck is 13”, girth is 17.5” and length (from base of neck to base of tail) is 15”. I bought her the XS in hunter orange, and it fits PERFECT and looks great. Even if her girth or neck were larger, it would still fit, as there is room to make it larger. The hook and loop material for the underbelly is solid instead of having strips that need to meet up, so it is very secure. The neck strap has a nice pad on the inside so it doesn’t irritate the neck. The arm holes to the underbelly closure are deep enough that they don’t rub under her armpits, and the neoprene material is thin and soft, so it wouldn’t irritate her if they did. The flotation pads aren’t bulky, so I’m not worried about her overheating or getting anything snagged under the neck of the vest. The lift strap on the back seems secure and is slightly padded, so it’s comfortable to use. We live in Florida and she loves being on the ocean kayak and laying in the pool on floats with me. Also, this will be her second year in Canada at our lake cottage. The cottage is surrounded by water (have to take our boat to access it) and woods. She love being on the boat and running around through the woods along the paths to neighbors (who we can’t see from the cottage). Some areas are dense with foliage or are along the water, so she will be safe and extra visible wherever she is. This life jacket is fitted to her body very well and has more room to make it bigger if you have a pup that is still growing. She has much more freedom of movement than bulkier jackets like her last one (Dogcheer sport style life jacket-as seen in the picture of Maddie on the kayak). I hope I covered everything that may help.

Great vest for your active dog.
This is the second lifevest I’ve gotten for my 80 pound pit mix. The only reason it’s the second is because he chewed the buckles on the first one which would’ve been difficult to repair. This gives our dog enough buoyancy to keep his 80 pounds of muscle afloat, and also allows him to play in the water, I like that the vest is reflective in case the knucklehead decides to jump off the boat in the dark. The neck strap and the belly straps have Velcro‘s that you had here first then buckles to hold it tight. There is a handle on the back that allows you to easily use for lifting, and other control purposes as needed. There is also a clip for a leash which comes in handy when we are boarding our boat, or keeping him on a leash while at the beach. I highly recommend this lifevest for your active dog. Make sure you measure correctly to get the right size.

This Life Jacket Made Me Realize the Value of Community
I have a 50-pound terrier mix named Orion who looks and acts like a deranged Muppet. He’s also not a good swimmer. We went to our neighborhood park today, which features a large lake in the center. I put this life jacket on him (first time wearing one) and let him float around in the water for a second. My fiancé said, “Hey, maybe don’t let him in the water without a leash, because he’s insane.” I insisted he was fine; he always came back when he got tired. Orion realized he was now invincible, so he shot off after a flock of geese. I once again told Robert, the owner of this Amazon account, that everything was fine.Orion was gliding smoothly through the water, frightening local wildlife and drawing attention from the large crowd of evening joggers and strolling families. I kept insisting he was fine, everything was fine, it’s just a dog chasing geese. Sure, there was a $200 fine for off-leash dogs, but it wouldn’t come to that. He would get tired in a minute and come back. After fifteen minutes, it became clear that he was not coming back. In fact, he was picking up speed. This park bordered a busy road, so I grew afraid he would climb out at an unideal spot and be squashed flat in front of several children. We pulled our mastiff puppy out of the water (he’s an angel) and grabbed his life jacket (different brand, irrelevant here) and I wrapped it around my body and kind of waddle-leapt into the water after this freaking dog.I never got within fifty yards of him. The Vivaglory New Sports Style Ripstop Dog Life Jacket is that good. After flailing and shouting “Orion” for fifteen minutes in front of the community, I flopped to shore in defeat. Robert paced the edge of the lake for a while. Orion kept gliding through the sea and upsetting geese, content to have found his calling, glowing with the essence of someone who is living their best life.A soccer mom with four (FOUR!) children surrounding her on various vehicles approached. She said she knew the park conservancy people who could unlock a nearby shed and haul a boat out. Meanwhile, another group of children started to draw the geese toward them with breadcrumbs. Orion followed the flock toward the crumb-filled shore. Robert ripped his shirt off and crouched, ready to leap when Orion was close enough. The soccer mom pushed her stroller, which was tied to a puppy (a puppy! Who is she!) toward the conservancy shed to wait for one of her local government contacts. It was down a trail and across a parking lot, so she stationed her children at various points and instructed them to find and notify her if Orion was caught and the boat was not needed. The breadcrumb children, who were all wearing costumes in May, I feel is important to add, threw those crumbs for all they were worth. The geese got closer and closer, and Orion edged toward the bank, and Robert—who hates both swimming and attention—yelled and barreled into the water, leapt on our dog, and hauled him to shore. One of the soccer mom’s kids biked off to relay the news. I jogged after him to thank her personally.“You got him?” she asked when I told her the news. “Thank god. They couldn’t get the boat out, anyway.”And you know what? They wouldn’t have needed to. Keep your boat, park conservancy people. Keep your generosity, you friendly parental anomaly. Orion would have been perfectly fine. He had the Vivaglory New Sports Style Ripstop Dog Life Jacket.

Dogs Stay Afloat
I ordered 8 Dog Life Jackets to swim. The mom n dad went in first that's why u will only see the 6 kids lol. They love the water n this jackets help them stay float. They do have to paddle but they will not sink. We put a pool noodle on the handle so they could calm down n know they would stay floating. They will know soon that they will not sink. Dgs are very smart. These lifejackets are XS. I only ordered 3 S for the mom n dad n one blue for the bigger pup. They weigh around 12 to 15 pounds. It has a handle on the back so u can grab them up n you can use them like a harness and walk them. Good quality. They are well made but the main thing is they float n won't sink. We have 8 dogs total n they all want to go in at the same time n we r just 2 persons to look over them. My dogs feel comfortable in the jacket n ever took a nap wearing it before going to the pool. They liked them. If they are happy n safe, we are happy for them. So go on and buy this lifejacket. It's a great buy!

Great Fit
We have two mini Aussies and had purchased this brand for our first one. When we got the second puppy, we purchased another. We spend a lot of time on the water and want to be able to take our pups with us and let them enjoy the water as well. They fit great and are easy to put on. The pups don't seem to mind having them on at all. I would recommend this for your pups' comfort and safety.
