Updated review ... five stars for quality product. Failure was my fault.
High quality build, and top performer. I only gave it three stars because it got stuck open on the third joint. I thought I was careful extending the rod. I have four tenkara rods and this was the first that became stuck. Once I got back from my trip in North Carolina, I tried to close the rod and it broke. After pulling the broken segment out of my palm ... and saying a few chosen words in painful anger ... I shelved it. Hopefully, I can get a replacement segment or rod. If I do, I will update the post to five stars and praise the seller.Update ... seller attempted to rectify issue stated above. I examined the failure and determined it was my fault and not related to the quality of the product. I updated the rating to five stars and highly recommend this rod. I do advise a careful deploy from the stowed position. There is no need to pull each segment tight with unnecessary force. Doing so would make it difficult to collapse into the stowed position.I appreciate the sellers attempt to rectify the issue, but this was my fault.

This is a BEEFY Tenkara Rod with a few flaws
First of all, the delivery on this rod was very difficult and had a 5-day delay. Normally, I wouldn't mention it because the delivery was supposedly by Amazon, but Amazon support completely blamed the delay on the manufacturer/seller, so it does actually have relevance (apparently) to a review of the item.FYI, I'm not a Tenkara rod expert with a collection of really high end rods. I have two Tenkara rods that are probably considered mid-level (I think they're excellent though) with those being the DragonTail ShadowFire 365 and the DragonTail Hellbender. I then also have two 3x zoom rods that are considered to be in the same category (discount, entry level) as this Angler Dream rod (although I feel they're much better rods than this one) with those being the shorter and longer MaxCatch 3x Zoom Tenkara rods. So, much of my opinion on the review on this rod is directly comparing this rod to these other rods I own, but especially the MaxCatch rods. This is actually a pretty nice Tenkara rod. It is definitely a very beefy rod, and along with the 7:3 action it seems rather stiff -- more than other 7:3 rods I own or have used. Each section (with the exception of the topmost) is rather thick, and when extended out to its full length the sections are very obvious (jagged) without the smooth transition between sections that I'm used to with almost all other Tenkara rods I've owned/used. This is especially visible when the rod is flexing like when trying to land a fish. It's still flexible and wiggly enough that it can be used for true Tenkara fishing, but I suspect this rod is also strong/stiff enough to almost be used as Keiryu rod with heavier line, tackle, bait, etc. It's a little heavy at 4.2 oz, as most 13' rods (even 2-3x zoom rods) are more down in the mid-3 oz range. Still, it has a very nice gourd shaped cork handle/grip that is rather long, so it results in less fatigue from longer use, even with the rod being rather heavy. The cork is good, but not great quality, and is kind of dusty/chalky. I'm sure with use that will go away, but it may very well be at the cost of the first layer of cork.Overall, this seems like a good to very good Tenkara rod, but I personally do not feel it offers enough for me to keep it when I have the DragonTail Hellbender (also 13') and the MaxCatch 3x zoom rod (which extends to 12'9"). Both of these rods (especially the DragonTail) are much better rods that each offer better features, specs, fishability, etc. So, this is a very good rod as an only rod or maybe an only big rod, but if you have other rods the same size, those rods will likely be better. If all you have are shorter rods, then this would be a good longer, stiffer rod to get for occasional use without being expensive. Full disclosure, I ended up returning it because my other similar sized rods are superior.I've included several labeled photos that show the rod/accessories weight, etc.

Awesome!!!
This pole is awesome I've never fly fished before because it seemed to be expensive and took some practice/skill to do butt this pole is super simple. I watched a bunch of videos then took a practice fly out in the yard setup a coffee can and started to practice before I new it i was able to pop that fly into the can with easy its all on the wrist. I like that the pole is all self contained i did get a line holder that attaches to the rod just above your hand so when collapsed you can just wind the line around it slip it in the tube and be on your way. I dont know that Ill every want to buy a fly rod I have several lengths and weights of tippet lines and most of the small streams and brooks I fish are tight quarters so your not able to cast a country mile anyway. I suppose on the bigger lakes you would want a fly rod too but the portability of this rod is awesome I would recommend trying one out especial if you already have the fly gear its quick to setup and be on the edge of in the water with 13 ft and a 12-16 ft tippet you can get a decent amount of distance and accuracy. I think its a great setup for beginners or pro's its just another style of fishing.

Very well-built rod and a very good price point.
This rod is absurdly well constructed for the price point. The sections telescope easily and collapse well. I've never had any instances of sections sticking. The thread work is neat and the cork handle is dense and well-shaped. The rod storage tube seems strong and well able to keep the rod safe. The rod has a very good action with a sturdy base and a light tip perfect for accurate and delicate fly presentation. I was really not expecting a rod of this quality at this price point.

Nice rod.
Good quality, steep learning curve. I lost my line after about two hours, think I tied the knot wrong.
