It's a good straw hat. It won't last forever, and it certainly won't hold up to any form of abuse.But it is good for the price, and a tighter weave than the other contenders at its price point.The XL fits my 23.5" melon.

This is a nice, light and breathable straw hat. I docked 1 start because the sizing seems to run a bit large, but I typically where a bandana as well, so it fits well like that. It's already be caught up in tree limbs while mowing and knocked off my head plenty of times, but seems to hold up to the advise pretty well. It's still keeping its shape, but it is still a straw hat. I have to wear glasses, so this helps keeps my face from getting burnt when I'm outside for hours on end. Works great to avoid the sunscreen on the face argument with your spouse!

I'm a chick and I measured as per the instructions and the hat is a SMIDGE too big but the size down would have been too small. So this SMIDGE will accommodate a bandana that I always wear to keep the hat cleaner longer. Yes, would recommend because This is a GOOD LOOKING HAT!

I ordered this hat instead of Panama Jack because of all the negative comments about PJ sizing. I measured numerous times and my size was right in the middle of extra large. So that’s what I ordered. Too big. Tried calling and emailing the Dorfman Co. to get their opinion on whether I should reorder a size smaller or the same size in case this was a one off situation. No response. The hat looks great. It would be a 5 if the sizing was right.Update: When I checked in to see about returning and ordering next size smaller the only size available was small. So I had the idea of spraying the hat with water and putting it in the sun to see if it would shrink. I went through two rounds of this. It worked! It is a usable fit now. Btw, I kept the water off the brim.

Need a reasonable priced hat for a vacation. Husband has trouble finding a hat that fits. This one fit the best.Looks like it will hold up well.

I normally wear a 7 7/8 hat size, but I used Dorfmans instructions to make sure and sure enough their instructions were correct. I needed a small size hat, so that is what I ordered. Hat came today and it was way too large, but the tag said it was a small. I am keeping the hat, I added a lining to it so after some work I got it to fit, but a customer should not have to go to all that trouble. I was going to return it, but I would have had to drive 35 miles to a UPS store. If you wear a 6 1/2 to 6 7/8 small hat, don't order this one, it won't fit.

Reasonably priced straw hat that is well made and provides sun protection.I love how it keeps your head cool in very hot weather and provides great sun protection on your scalp ears and neck.It is advised that you not wear it in the rain (obviously, it is straw!) so in order to protect it from light rain and sweat, I used an old Amish trick for rain protection…I sprayed it inside and out with shellac, 3 coats!It works fairly well in light rain, but I wouldn’t advise waring it in a heavy rain.Not only does it protect your scalp, ears and neck from sun exposure, but it allows much better viewing when looking at objects in the direction of the sun.And…unintended benefit, my wife likes how it looks on me!

Hat is well constructed and looks great! Size chart is accurate. Going to be a great addition to my growing hat collection, especially when the weather gets too warm for a felt hat. Received hat in good condition but it is way too big. I do not know what size to reorder based on this and the chart. Do you have something that can be glued inside to take up space?

fits n looks great, got a good one i suppose, shipping to awhile tho i think they needed to bring sum more in it came from the west coast, im on the east. n they didnt ship it right away either. but other than that perfect hat, well be wearing it on sunny days.
