Go 168th Iowa!
Another chapter by Tommy in the story of the 168th. Odd that he thinly disguised most of the names. He really was affected by the war and his three wounds. Great reading.

Ohio's contribution to the 166 Inf. Reg 42nd Rainbow Div.
I was a little disappointed since I read nothing about the Ohio 42 Div. which was the one that kept it's original identity once it was united to form the Rainbow division . I have been searching for the original book published by the division by the Historian of it. My father was sent one shortly after the end of WW1. Unfortunately it was lost when a shipping company lost one of our trunks during our relocation from out of state back to Ohio. He was a decorated veteran of the division having served in the 166 Inf Reg., Company D from Delaware county, Ohio. It has a rainbow from the upper right corner of the cover to the lower left corner. That is why I specified the 166 Inf. Div. but they were concentrated on the experiences of solders with now mention of the original from Ohio.

excellent descriptions
I found his descriptions of the land and people of France interesting. I could picture the mud and cold though his words.

Old English anyone?
This book came very highly recommended from Amazon readers but I disagree. The writing is hard to understand, 1918 was'nt that long ago, there's no need for the hard to understand language. Also he does'nt describe other characters well, More confusion! mediocre story about a topic that doesn't have nearly as much written about it as ww2.
