Fiskars7853 23.5" Splitting Axe (Discontinued by Manufacturer)

This will be the second one of these I have had. I lost my other one and couldn't do without. I use it to split large pieces of firewood into smaller and to split a log up small enough to make my own kindling. While I was without one, I tried to do this with a plain camping hatchet and was surprised at how many whacks it took to split a log. If you hit it right, the Fiskars Splitting Ax will split about any log in just one whack. You won't be disappointed!

Handle was shorter than expected but not an issue! Fast delivery and on time packaging could have been more concealed other than that happy and product as described

Had to clean up the edge a bit when I got it, but it does its job and the warranty is solid

My son and his goofy buddies lost my first one in the woods. I loaned this one to a guy down the street and he won't give it up, after doubting its capabilities based on its size. Great tools.

Only the Vikings could make an axe with modern engineering. Or maybe it's an old art we have since lost. Short handle so I can split bolts in the garage and it splits the wood w/o getting hung up 1/2 down.

loved it the first time I used it but the second time ended up with a DEEP gauge in the center of the blade. I wasn't expecting miracles but it should hold up at the second use. Disappointed and on the search for one that I can use.

Please be informed that this is not a Chopping Axe as Amazon has listed, but instead it is a splitting axe. I already have a splitting axe and did not want to purchase a second one!

It is super light and splits great. Much better tan any maul or ax I used before.

i like this splitting axe nice profile and starting edge need very lil work and holds great edgeadded a hook to tip working on my 3rd cherry tree
