Honestly I don’t know this was a little water down ink brush but surprisingly it helps with grey tones and more to my inking and watercolor art work.

I’ve been using this pen for months and it works as it should.

I ADORE this pen! I use a lot of black in my work, and this pen works a lot like ink wash where it gives you multiple values through layering. The only think that stops me from giving it five stars is the fact that they discontinued the refills for this on jetpens.com- the only place they did sell them online for a good while, meaning I'll either have to refill it myself or spend $8 every time (which might be more worth it if I were more than just a hobbyist). I've heard fountain pen ink is the way to go, so I'll try that when I run out.If you're looking to try the other colors in the regular ink pens, refills are available on jetpens for like $3 a piece.

The light black ink is incredible for washes and is not shiny like the pentel pocket brush pen ink. Like all brush pens it dry brushes very quickly and needs some external moisture to make a good wash. It's the heavy lifter of my pen collection and I prefer to keep three or four on me at all times. It took forever for brush pens to become commonplace in the states. When I lived in San Francisco people would go to Japan town for this sort of stuff. Of course nothing on earth can replace a series 7 brush with a dip ink, but this is the best possible solution for a person working on the go.

Have used this brush pen many times before, i usually refill it with kura sumi tattoo ink but after while the bristles will start to break down and fray

I use this brush with a grey toned sketchbook and its perfect. Ive bought several, my only hope is that they start to sell refills so I don't have to buy the entire thing over again. Be careful with how hard you squeeze because the mid connection might bubble and spatter. My suggestion is layers, lightly hold the brush and then add more layers instead of trying to go dark right off the bat and chance sputtering. Much easier to use ink this way, Im very cautious of it otherwise from the well.

Very nice, the pen works wonderfully. It's a soft brush that allows the ink to flow on the page with ease. The only complaint I have is that you have to put on several layers of the ink before it looks truly black, unless you are going for gray.

Arrived faster than expected and in perfect condition. My brain read "grey" when in fact this is indeed Light Black. The ink does dry lighter than the black it goes on as, which is good.
