New Life SpectrumAlgaeMax Mini-Wafers 150g (Naturox Series)

So, I'm torn on these wafers, but am still rating them high given their composition, and the nature of the competing products. They are without a shadow of a doubt the highest quality wafer you can readily find. Unlike other wafers, they aren't dominated by binders and other things aquatic critters shouldn't be loaded-up on. However, they have not been fondly received, and none of our fish, shrimp, or snails are eager to consume these. Still, the wafers ultimately get munched and disappear. This product was highly touted by a well known fish-tuber, and we figured it was worth testing a jar; but at this point I'm not sure if we'll continue to keep this stocked in the fish cave moving forward.

I have a 7 gallon tank with some Cory cats, Cherry shrimp, Nerite snails, and Cardinal tetras. The Cory's and cardinals don't touch the wafers. The cherry shrimp eat some when its fresh in the tank but don't appear to prefer it. The snails don't eat it until its a pile of mush on the bottom and starts to grow biofilm from decomposing. Once it starts breaking down the snails eat it but it takes a day or more which isn't great for the water quality. I feed 2 wafers at a time and only about 2 times a week.Though it doesn't work that great for the fish I have, I bet plecos or other algae eating fish would love it. The ingredients look great when reading the label too.

Fish seem to like it and it has a pleasant smell. It came with half of its tamper proof seal already lifted up and it doesn't float but rather sinks in a second or two. For 13 dollars I'd appreciate if my item wasn't tampered with to protect the integrity of the wafers but it does seem like it's decent quality.

I really like New Life Spectrum as a a brand. My betta fish is also fed New Life Spectrum. The ingredients are spectacular and I don’t see a whole lot of filler ingredients included on the list either. These wafers are a lot smaller than some of the other brands. The first thing I noticed and liked the most about this product was that it actually smelled really good! It did not have an off putting odor; but it smelled like it tasted good. If it wasn’t fish food I would try it! It smells that good! I have left it in my tank for my pleco and he eats it right up! Nothing left behind. I think I will be switching mainly to the New Life Spectrum wafers. It’s a healthier option in my opinion.

I ave 3 spawns of Bristlenose fry in a grow out tank. They liked the commonly found Hikari Algae wafers. Those would be fine for them to stay on, but I got these for less artificial ingredients and more real natural beneficial ingredients. They went crazy for these. These hunt to find them was more vigorous, and the gathering on the pellets was more than the other brand.

I have a 20gal long community tank, and half of the inhabitants much prefer this food to floating flakes. My pleco basically "comes running" as soon as I drop one in. The danios & corys also adore it. Ingredients list is much cleaner than most. Will be continuing to feed this!!

Unfortunately the container came broken but i was able to save the food, otherwise it’s a great food. My shrimp, corydoras, snails, and pleco enjoy this food and the ingredients are better than most popular brands! Would recommend

I didn't need a jar this big to occasionally feed some nerite snails... I never saw them actually eat it, so it just decayed in the bottom. Maybe plecos will actually eat it?
