I had never heard of kendama until I saw a reference to it on a TV show. So I looked it up, read online reviews, thought it looked like fun, and ordered this one. I am sure if I were much younger I would have mastered the basics by now, but I’m not. It is fun and I am slowly getting better, but it is a pretty steep learning curve. I’m not 20 any more (or 40, or 60), but I am retired so have time to practice. It does help with balance and hand/eye coordination, so that’s a good thing.

I used to dama way back in my day and i came across and old one with beat up cups and string only 4 fingers long, surprisingly after 5 years i still had some skill! Well let me tell you i forgot whats its like to sesh a fresh dama, paint was amazing, kend is durable, literally the first 5 minutes of playing I realized a new kendama matters! Thankfully this is just a starter dama for me while i get better again, i got a few more on the way i love these thing’s truly

My kids and I are new to the Kendama. Man is it fun! Who knew how many different things you can do. Develops good eye hand coordination. Reminds me of the yo-yo. Decent quality for the price. Get this!

Got this for my husband (who’s Japanese and was feeling nostalgic for the game at one point). We both love playing this! Neither of us have really played this seriously, and this is a great choice for beginners and learning the “tricks of the trade”. It comes with a spare string (haven’t needed it yet) and the ball is coated with a slightly sticky paint, which does make it a bit easier to do the tricks. I wouldn’t recommend it for little kids since that ball on the long string can go flying and break something. But I would recommend it for anyone else wanting simplistic fun!!

Great kendama, was gifted my first kendama chick was a different and cheaper brand. I suggest this one since the ken and dama are both wood. Huge plus when looking for a kendama. First dama I got was different brand however my pit got the best of that dama. Little puppets got a hold of this one but was too strong for it to be broken. Great price great dama. Enjoy!

I love this kendama. I got the red ball and it looks so good. The packaging even comes with an extra string and stickers. I’ve been playing with this a lot and there are no signs of problems.

This is such a great toy - amazing quality and includes some cool stickers that you can use to customize your toy...What I also liked is the QR code to the training on how to use it...learn the tricks. My child is playing non-stop!!! I would definitely recommend it!
