I have damage in one of my eyes which flares up in horrible pain if sunlight gets to it.That being said, I went on a cross-country road trip and knew that I would be in a lot of sunlight and also in a lot of heat.So I spent over a month researching sun protection hats, specifically for smaller heads, but not a children’s hat because I had to ensure I’d have the side coverage, and I chose this one in the end. And I am so glad I did!Not only did it give great sun protection:It doesn’t even feel like you’re wearing a hat - very light weightKept the sun out of my eyes!The side brims are flexible and don’t get bent out of shape even if you roll it up to stuff in a backpackThe top part has a mesh portion that is adjustable so I was able to make it fit my head perfectly (I have a teenager’s sized head)The loop that hangs down is adjustable - you can tighten it all the way up to your chin if it’s windy and it won’t go anywhere! You can also put it behind the back and it’s out of your wayThe inside brim is very comfortable and breathable - even in 100 degree tempsIn the desert I watered it down and the top stayed cool even though the brim dried quicklyEveryplace we stopped there was at least one person that came up to me to ask me where I got my hat- many compliments on style esp with how great the coverage wasI drove cross country for 24 days and wore this EVERY DAY in every type of weather and it did not fade or fray anywhere.It’s by far the best hat I’ve ever found for my condition. And, I would recommend hands down for traveling, hiking, beach, yard work or anyone that needs sun protection for eyes and face. I will be purchasing another one in a different color and also ones for my parents.For sizing - this would work perfect on teenage, small amd med sized head. But i wouldn’t recommend for a large/men’s size head.

I have the fisherman hats from this listing in blue and in gray and they are just fine, not too tight, not too loose, just what I'd expect from a one size fits all adult hat. They're also good fabric, not too heavy or hot, work as a hat should, adequate drawstring, no complaints except that my kids keep borrowing them and lost one.I like the side snaps on this style, it shakes out fine after being rolled up, it's a nice color and seems more or less identical in quality to the other two, but it is just ridiculously small. The material has zero give to it, and the band is maybe an inch long. Think baseball cap, not drawstring, only so small it's functionally useless. It barely fits my 8 year old and doesn't fit her just pre-teen brother. I can just squeeze it on but it's also short from top to bottom, so there's no room for it to actually sit on your head down towards your ears like in the picture, if that makes sense. It's just not deep enough. It doesn't seem like this should be marketed towards "adults and teens". Not knocking off any stars because while it's not super clear in the listing, in hindsight the numbers given seems pretty clearly the inner measurement, but unless I can convince the kid to wear this I'm out of luck on a hat until I can reorder.

They obviously care about their customer service.This hat is not made for someone with a smaller adult head even as tight as I can adjust it. Sun coverage is very good, but being polyester it is not really a cooler hat. I'm in FL & my cotton sun hat is much cooler. I found my head sweating a lot more with this hat. It is crushable which is great for packing along on a trip. I really like the color selection as I bought a lighter color. The brim is great, nice and big all the way around. I like that it has an adjustable chin string too. So some things to think about before you purchase.

I get skin cancer easily and need the protection of a floppy hat. This hat is so much more than that. One size fits all. There’s a draw string at the back of the hat that you can pull to fit your head circumference. The hat measures 23” circumference and my head is 21” so this handy dandy draw string lets my hat fit snuggly when out in windy weather. Long adjustable strings in front that also help you keep your hat on your head and not flying down the road . The brim of this hat is wide to keep the sun off your face, ears and neck. It’s firm so this keeps your head shaded more. There is mess on the sides of the hat to keep your head cool on those hot days. The hat comes in a variety of colors and styles.. I picked beige so I can wear it with everything. Last but not least it came in a nice plastic bag with a zip closure. Class all the way. I love it !

The hat is exactly as pictured. It is light, gives great sun protection, and the cord easily adjusts

I do not have a ginormous head and this hat runs very large. Yes, there is an adjustable pull loop at the back, but the hat is still too loose for windy days on the water. On the plus side, nice material andnavy blue color.

Got this for a trip to the Badlands, and it was such a great purchase! this is super lightweight, comfortable and cool. Kept my head, face and neck protected from the glare, sunburn and even a light rain that showed up. The strap kept it comfortably in place in the windy areas. I am a known hat-hater but this won me over! Yes, it arrives rolled up. Roll it back the other way, stuff it back in the tube for a bit...it is soft without being floppy while you are wearing it, so it flattens right back out. Lays flat as a pancake in the suitcase. Definitely recommend this!
