The Essential Guide to Telecommunications

This is an excellent book that covers the increasing wide range of topics in the ever changing world of telecommunications. Having myself been in the field of telecom for almost 20 years, I realize that there are things that I didn't learn over the years. It's not just a telephone line anymore... Everything is so much more complex than what was once just voice over a single copper pair not long ago. It's all digital and wireless now, and where we are is so exciting to read about in this one book. I have proudly added this excellent book to my ever growing communications library, and you will be glad that you did too.

This was exactly the book that I needed to learn about the Telecommunication industry. It provides valuable information about today's technology and insight as to what will be coming down the pipeline in the next few years. I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in learning about this industry as well as those interested in polishing their current understanding of the technologies that deal with connecting people to each other using data and voice over IP.

Annabel has the experience and insight to be thorough with a strict adherence to complete technical and common language explanations of every important evolution in telecom and the resulting devices that make it possible. I use her work as a daily reference. We own and operate the largest Carrier Hotel in New England as the Markley Group at One Summer St Boston.

I found this to be an excellent resource to learn more about telecommunications technologies. I thought it was just right to give an overview of the subject, with enough details to function in business with the subject.

This is more of a history of telecommunications and a high level understanding of topics. I thought it would be more in-depth and technical since I'm a networking student studying for my CCNA. Its an ok ready for the history of the AT&T and bell companies and general introductions to topics in telco.

This book is well written. Helped tremendously with my job. Would definitely recommend this product.
