A little tall of you sit low...
The quality of this stand is excellent. Very sturdy, lightweight, and classy. However I happen to prefer sitting as low as possible while playing, and the adjustment range of this stand is 24-34 inches. So for my preference this stand holds my 9x13 rack tom a bit too high even at its lowest setting. Hopefully ill be able to return or exchange it for the classic snare stand (which can be adjusted lower) to use for my rack tom. Finally id like to add that i have the rest of the tama classic stands (cymbal, snare, and hihat) and will not be going back to my double braced stands. These are much more portable and easier to arrange while sitting behind the kit.

Great tom stand!
This is a great tom stand. The design of the basket is such that it makes minimal contact with the drum, unlike a lot of snare stands which can rob a drum of resonance. I can hear no difference between the tom on its own and mounted on the stand. Its small footprint is great for drum placement. Beautifully designed, a nice vintage look. I plan on getting the complete Tama Classic hardware set and saying farewell to the ugly double-braced, over-engineered monstrosities. You can’t go wrong with Tama, everything they make is high quality and no-nonsense.

Wrench
The 3 peices that hold the drum are not that fixed. You need to make some adjustments so that the 2 hinged arms don't move and lose their grip on the drum. I wouldn't be traveling with this as it arrives out of the box. Otherwise, for fixed installation, great!

Too tall on the bottom tube? No problem!
For those saying that the bottom tube is too tall, just take it to a competent repairman or DIY. The tightening collar can be removed by gentle heat and tapping it off with a flat piece of steel, the bottom tube easily cut down and the collar can be press fit right back on with a bit of Lock Tight. Done. See my drum hardware repair at jimflys2.

Exactly as advertised
Very lightweight and easy to use, set up. I use this for my fairly heavy 12x8 Gretsch Brooklyn rack tom and it works perfectly. Snugs up against the bass drum and very stable. Zero difference in the tone/resonance between this stand and when it was free-hanging from a cymbal stand. Couldn't be more happy.

Stable and durable, without weighing a ton or taking up space
This stand is made very well. I also have a classic series straight cymbal stand, which I love. They can handle the rigors of road use, but I use this tom stand primarily in my home studio. It's the perfect height, has a small footprint, it's very stable, and I can pop a tom on or off the stand easily if I have to tune or make mic adjustments.
