My girls are very picky, but LOVE the foods from Modesto Milling. I especially like that there isn't a bunch of powder in the bag like some other grained food (that was causing my hens to lose out on nutritional value when they only eat some of what's in their bowls).This is a great choice for fermenting. I give my girls a bowl of this every few days, and then fill up their trough with the layer crumbles, so they have options.

This is an excellent feed. My hens are in beautiful condition and thrive on it in our minus temps, and they lay for most of the winter. It costs more than hardware store feed, but sometimes, and this is one of those times, you get what you pay for.

Good product - but this is the small bag. I typically pay this price (almost $40) for the large 50Lb bag.
