Perfect gift for the Science-Fiction gamer
Celebrates the contemporary story-tellers/entertainers by allowing the masses a little insight into one of the most successful franchises in the world today.Invaluable to whom appreciate concept art and its importance to the developmental/creative process as a collective.Only complaint: too short and leaves you wanting more!

Great book if you're a Starcraft 2 fan!
This book is incredibly high quality and the images are some of the most crisp and beautiful I have ever seen in an art book, my only complaint is the book feels a little short. Considering it's a collectible book I can see why it isn't overly huge, but man I would love to see more. I highly recommend this if you are a fan of all those awesome Blizzard artists out in Southern California.

I found a nice ebay user that was selling this collectors item and I couldn't be happier. There is a lot of beautiful artwork in this neat artbook. Shame I only got the german version, but still the vast majority of the stuff is just artwork, only a handful of pages, like 4 or 5 have text in them. The artbook is divided to 4 distinc sections, the terran, zerg, protoss and the last one is buildings or enirovnment I couldn't figure out what it was since it's in german. The book is fantastic though, shame I missed out on the collectors edition when it was available, but if I remember correctly only a small number of those were availalbe in my country. Great artbook, a must have for any starcraft fan out there.*EDITI just bought an english issue of the book straight from amazon through wonderbook.com It is a slightly used book, the inner sides of the dust cover have some dirt on them, but other than that, it's like brand new, it arrived today, so the shipping was extraordinarily quick. Everything else remains the same, finally I can read all the stuff that is in this exquisite artbook.

Not what I was looking for in an artbook
I'd gotten this book for Christmas. It was a good gift, but there are a few points I would like to hit within the review.First, the price of the book is a little steep, but the print and paper quality is pretty exceptional. Thick pages, and a hard cover make it feel like it is actually worth some dollar. Its a good length as well, 100+ pages of primarily Terren artwork. The issue I take with the product involves its lack of interesting content. Artbooks will usually all have nice artwork, but will vary in the amount of text and process art. I love reading text on the design decisions and some of the difficulties that the developers had to deal with in terms of visual design. I also like to see lots of sketches, how designs evolved, etc. This book has very little process stuff, and absolutely no text at all. I was very disappointed by this. With all their art sitting around in-house, it must have been so easy to compile it into this book. Not enough effort when't into its inception I feel, just a compilation that gives no extra insight into the games lore or development of the actual product.I am also disappointed in the amount of exclusive content. 75% of the book comprised of images I had already seen all over the internet. This could be because I have spent time seeking out such images, but it also ties into the lack of process artwork. The stuff found on the internet usually has a highly-medium finish to it, which happens to be how this book is composed as well. More process art would have not been readily available on the internet, giving the book content that I had not already seen. So, the art is nice but does not have the kind of content that would keep you occupied for very long. I would suggest Halo, Mass Effect, and District 9 for the kind of artbooks that feel like a great deal more effort went into its creation.
