Although the unit is a big beast and holds loads of water, the actual iron is much lighter than our earlier model that we had scrapped after several repairs because of the amount of line scale it had begun to dump on clothes, no matter how often we cleaned it. This one is easy to handle.This model has an exactly similar limescale collector but Tefal have changed their cleaning instructions, saying that the iron’s steam boiler should be regularly rinsed out as well. We’ll do that. Meanwhile this iron produces steam quickly and in great quantity at a good pressure, so it takes out creases swiftly and totally. The temperature controls have been simplified and automated, making this an impressive upgrade of what had always been an ironing workhorse. Spares are easy to get hold of and Tefal says that it is committed to providing them for many years. We saved over £100 by purchasing from an Irish supplier rather than from the mainland UK, so we are pleased with this iron.

Tefal are by far the best steam iron generators I have ever used wouldn’t buy anything else they are in a league of there own as long as you look after it makes ironing easier and quicker and it heats up super fast the iron is super lightweight glides smoothly over even the most difficult of jobs has a large water tank so no stopping to fill it up trust me you won’t be disappointed

We previously bought a steam generator iron when they were discounted and it was brilliant. Unfortunately, this got damaged after a couple of years so we quickly bought a reasonable "standard style" iron until we were able to justify a steam generator/get one in the sale.Reluctantly, i agreed to my wife purchasing this but, i have to say, it is fantastic. So easy to use, irons unbelievable well and, unlike our previous one, has a stand on the actual hand held part. Yes its expensive but with this...you do get what you pay for. Will never go back to the normal irons.

The iron works very well and is easy to use with the exception that it is too easy to inadvertently operate the selection button. The water tank is fine but the rest of the base is built from very cheap and flimsy plastic. The power cord cannot be packed inside the unit and it wasn’t designed for uk plugs

This replaced an earlier model of the same type. The iron is light, glides easily and makes ironing all fabrics easy. Great steam pressure helps with cotton and linen fabrics. Happy with purchase, just don’t know why the price needs to be so high

The media could not be loaded. The iron was great when worked but this review is about Tefal customers service. We own several Tefal products but this one is the last we bought from them, thanks to their appalling customer service. We have owned it for 7 months and for roughly 4 months it has been in the hands of Tefal under warranty claim. After about a month it started to lose steam rapidly when switched on. We sent it to the service twice and both times they claimed there was nothing wrong with it. Now, the third time, It's been stuck with them for TWO months and there is no end of this mess. I shoot two videos showing what is wrong with the item, then sent them a link to download it, compressed via WeTransfer. They refused, claiming they haven't got the software, even though the software like WinRAR is free to use and WeTransfer is idiot-proof. Then I uploaded videos to my Dropbox and sent them the link so the didn't have to use compressed files. That was rejected by Tefal too. In this digital day and age, they do not use Dropbox! Two months ago, when we sent the iron for the third time I attached the USB reader with the videos on the memory card. Paying £270 for the product and hardly using it is disgraceful. Amazon didn't help either, washing their hands of it and sending us to contact Tefal directly. Today we have decided to buy the steam generator from another manufacturer and claim the money via a small claim court.Update:After 10 months and about 5 lengthy calls, I got my money back from Tefal. I had to wait around 2 months to get it as it was sent from France! I really don't have words for that. Just steer clear from them.

I had a previous one of these which I loved. I tried a normal iron and realised i was lost without this.Only complaint is the retractable cord isn’t a feature on this and the plastic seems less strong but does the job well. Easy to clean the calc and to refill water. Power is good and heats up quickly.

Well worth the price. This was a replacement for my previous iron that I had had for 10 years.What a game changer. Love the way the iron can lock onto the base. The removable water tank is brilliant and the power of the steam is excellent.For those considering an iron like this, it does all that it says and more.Ironing is no longer a challenge and this one does it in half the time.Well done TEFAL.
