CP8812-T 12-Inch Titanium Digital LCD Caliper Micrometer

I am a engineer and bought these to replace a cheap set of calipers but since I have access to multiple hundred dollar calipers I was looking for something in between as far as price. These are the only ones I found that were inbetween cheap and high end. However, I measured something with both these and a very expensive set and in all measurements they read the exact same value. So they are just as effective as a expensive counter part, but you can tell they don't slide quite like the more expensive type. Ultimately this is a better value than the top of the line. Also their 300mm capability makes them more useful than the small expensive pair that usually never leaves the desk. You can take these into the shop with out worrying too much.

Very accurate but i just dont like how it automatically turns on the moment you move the slide.Works great for measuring brake drums. I would recommend grinding down a small area at the base of the top blades just in case your measuring a drum with a deep lip on it. Same goes for the bottom blades for measuring rotors with a lip but i have a 6" version for rotors. It can get bothersome pulling out a 12 inch mic just to measure pads and rotors.

This is really nice. Very accurate. Both inches and metric. You can zero it, then drag the caliper (as opposed to moving it slowly with the thumb wheel) to the bitter end and move it all the way back and it will still read zero. I have no complaints at all.

Most of the LCD segments were very dim, generally the bottom half and sometimes one or two on the top half. A few were displayed at an acceptable level. I removed and reinserted the battery that came in the caliper but no improvement in the LCD display was seen. Also, a plastic hinge on the case broke off while trying to open the case for the very first time. If the LCD had displayed as expected, I would have kept it. I've returned it and will try to order another one with hopefully better results.

i needed a 12 inch caliper for work. i didn't want to spend a lot. so this seem like a decent price for a new caliper. but when i received the mail and open it. it was an open item. had scratch marks on it. i bought a new item but got a "like new" item. since it will probably get scratch while i use it for work. i didn't mind. but i pay the full price of buying a new and got a used. i wasn't happy but time and hassle is not something i have time to deal with at that moment.

Probably ok for home or non precision use. I can't use it in my shop because it squeezes far too easily thereby giving undersized readings. Feels solid. I guess someone better than me can get the touch right to use it.

After the YouTube video and reading here on Amazon about the six inch caliper I was kind of hesitant to buy the twelve inch model. I went ahead and took the dive mainly because of the fact that a friend has one and it does not have this problem. After receiving mine I am happy to say I have absolutely no problems at all... This thing is super accurate and the memory function works without a problem. Have you constantly retracted your caliper blade and not once have to zero the display? This is the first caliper that I have not had this problem with..The caliper moves around in its case but the quality for this price more than makes up for that!I would highly recommend this product.....

Since I bought this I have not used my mytitoyo calipers. I work at a small cnc shop,so I use these everyday. They have been very accurate. I really like like the auto shut off feature. The only thing that concerns me is how long will they last,I put them away in my tool box at end of my shift so nobody else is using them. They seem pretty solid, I would highly recommend these over the expensive ones.
