EDIT- there is another app for these in Japanese that works perfectly I. The back ground. Pretty simple and not to hard to figure out.These things are so cool and work exactly as I wanted them too. You just replace one double A battery with the Mabeee battery sheath filled with a triple A battery and bam you can control that thing with your phone. My only complaint is that you the app doesnt run in the background. As soon as you leave it to do something else what ever you were using turns off which creates a problem when you are trying to use it for things that you want to stay on, like lights, fans, and other battery operated appliances. I hope this is fixed in the future because a product like this is impossible to find and so useful

We really wanted this to work to control a couple of Halloween skeletons. It worked a couple of times erratically, but then it wouldn't connect. We have iPhone 8+ with software version 13.1.3. We tried with both our phones and an iPad and all had the same problems. So, we're returning the item, but hoping the manufacturer can work the bugs out.

It works, BUT read the fine print. I was looking to use this to essentially make a battery powered light a “smart light”. I installed the battery and turned it on via the app and was thrilled. As soon as I close the app the light turns off. This is more of a toy, not meant to control lights or batteries. The app has a lot of functions to play with. But none of them will allow the battery to be on after the app closes. Disappointed and returning. Not practical.

This incredible smart battery works great for my battery operated train. I can control the speed of the train by using the mabee app from my smart phone. Works great with any device as long as it has bluetooth connection and the mabee app.

Do not buy this item. It only works if you keep the phone application on the entire time. Definitely a waste of $35.

Just got it and worked just as it said. Love it I’m buying another !

it doesnt fit in most battery slots.
