Effective and Easy to Use, But Probably Not for Dogs With Sensitive Paws
Purchased this last week for my 12 lb Malti-Poo because wipes just weren't cutting it. This thing really works! I purchased the small/petite size, and after the first use the water was black from all the dirt picked up! Subsequent uses don't collect as much filth, which suggests thatyou don't have to use it after every walk. I've been using it 1x/day, which is more than enough for maintaining clean paws!Having read a variety of the reviews before purchasing this product, I'd like to debunk some of the concerns.1) Some reviewers worried about discomfort to the dog on the basis of sticking their own fingers in the plunger as a test. Since this thing isn't designed for human fingers, it shouldn't surprise anyone that it's not pleasant, so skip this "test." My dog isn't sensitive to his paws being touched, and he doesn't mind this.2) Some folks complained about it being clunky and hard to use. Not sure if this it unique to larger sizes, but the small one is neither of these. Couldn't be easier to use, esp compared to some of the other weird, complicated pet products out there.Bottom Line: If your dog is like mine and isn't finnicky about having their paws touched, you'll be fine. Otherwise, skip this.

Perfect Little dirt buster for sensitive paws.
This mug works great. Our little puppy had some muddy feet after a walk in a local forest after rain an we used our new paw plunger to get her ready to be back in the car. It so easy to use with it’s easy to hold handle. I just added a little water and placed her paw in the hole which also works like a squeegee when the paw comes out. I plunged each paw a few times to let the internal bristles loosen the mud and wash her paws. Each paw came out clean and just a little damp. A quick toweling off revealed that her paws were indeed clean. Ready for the ride home. Yay. Love it. We keep ours ready to use in the car.

If you have dogs, you need this
This is such a game changer! My dogs usually wear the rubber pawz booties to protect their paws from the salt and snow in the winter time but for days when they're not wearing the pawZ or for days when its a quick walk or when it's raining, I don't have the patience to chase them down to wrestle the booties on them so I usually just wipe their paws after their walks with the wet wipes. I've found that the wet wipes doesn't clean their paws thoroughly so when I came across the paw plunger, I had to give it a try. The paw plunger is so easy to use; just fill it with warm water, put the top on and stick your pups paw in. Hold your dog's paw with one hand and with the other move the paw plunger up and down a few seconds then gently pull the paw out and wipe off the excess water with a clean towel. Viola! Clean paws! Inside the top are bristles that clean the pads of the dog's paw. No soap needed. The first time I used it, when I dumped the water out after cleaning all 4 paws of just one of my dogs (I have 4), the water in the container was almost black with dirt and grime. So disgusting to know that was all on their paws. Strongly recommend for anyone with dogs. I took a star off because the Petite size was slightly too small to fit my dogs front paws comfortably. The Med size was way too big for my shihtzus. For reference, my dogs are all small breeds between 12-19. There needs to be a size in between the Petite and the Med. Be sure to help guide their paws in and out of the "plunger" so their dew claw doesn't get caught.

Sizes not good for a corgi
I really wanted to like this product but the sizes are off. I originally got the medium for my corgi and it’s as tall as my corgi’s legs! It is huge! I guess it’s because the size range for it is 20-70 pounds. That’s a huge range. I ended up returning the medium and got the petite. The petite is tiny. The opening is super small and way too small for my corgi. The difference between the petite and medium is so big. There really needs to be something in between. I wanted this mainly for the handle. The mud buster is nice but I wanted something with a handle because holding a paw and the mud buster can be tricky especially with a wriggly pup.

Seemed like it would be too painful to use on my dog
Ordered the petite for my small dog and tested it by first inserting my own finger. It was extremely painful to try to remove my finger, the force needed to even get it started was like trying to pull my finger out of a chinese finger trap. I can't imagine getting my dogs paw pads stuck against the rubber lips. In theory, great product. I would have needed to cut the rubber myself to make the edges smooth though or put my dog through the discomfort. A washcloth worked great while we waited for the product so we'll be going back to that.

Love it! Worked so well I got a second one!
I have the small pink one for a chihuahua and got the second one for my lab. I knew it would be bigger but oh boy is it bigger! Perfect for any dog. The top is made from a very pliable material, I myself have tried it with my hand and fingers (for both sizes) and it is very safe. My dogs didn’t love it at first, but with enough practice and WARM water, they really don’t mind. Just make sure you have a towel ready to dry with you and it should be fine!

Too small for a small size
This is too small even for my 9 lb poodle mix. They need to enlarge it by an inch. We have the medium & it was too big but it is very useful to clean my precious pets' paws.

I use it for medicated foot soaks
I have a poodle who is prone to getting yeast at the beds of her nails. The dermatological veterinarian is having me soak each foot in 1/4 cup vinegar and 3/4 cups water. He also wanted me to take a tooth brush and scrub each nail bed. My furkid was so hard to hold still 10 minutes per foot to soak and then also brush each nail bed on that foot. To do all that on all four feet was a nightmare for her and for me, plus a wet sopping mess when done. With this cup I can put the vinegar water mixture in it, put my furkid's paw in it and either twist or slide it up and down and the bristles inside the cup does the scrubbing for me. She accepts this much better than trying to soak each foot in a dish, drinking glass, plastic bag, etc. It only takes about an hour now (10 minutes of soaking per foot, and time to dry each foot), where as before it would take at least two hours.
