Buy These NOT Galvanized
These are high quality without the threat of rust on the gate. Bought two of these for sagging cedar gates and they worked out perfectly. After a year there is no sign of rust. Not the best looking thing to have on you gate but very well made and easy to install and adjust.

Works well.
I used it on a three foot wide gate and it made the gate more square than it was. So it worked for me and the price was right.

Hard to install
Cable is way to short and very hard to keep tension on the cable as you tighten it

Not the best, but gets the job done.
I was hesitant to give this a 4 star review and was leaning towards a 3. I’d say it’s more of a 3.5 star at best. It gets the job done which is key, but the quality is a bit lacking.Lots of sharp edges on the metal. The plates and nuts to hold the cables are very sharp. I brushed against it and cut my back pretty good. I filed them down a bit and that definitely helped. I also zip tied the cable ends together, to keep them from going astray and poking someone.I’ve bought better quality kits in the store and the fit and finish is much improved. Like I said, it gets the job done, so I can’t fault it there. But if you want better quality and finish, look to spend a a bit more.

FINALLY - Quality Stainless hardware
Living a few hundred yards from the Atlantic ocean means metal has a short life expectancy here. I have gone through about 5 of these gate stag kits in the last 9 years at my house with 2 gates. I have looked and looked for a stainless product and found these at a SUPER good price. I replace the old galvanized ones ever 1.5 years or so. I expect these will last many many years and I could not be happier. Finally - good quality hardware near the ocean!!

It works, but be careful!
It did what I bought it to do. Time will tell if it stands up to the outdoors. But, when you are working on it be sure to wear some protective gloves, there are small shards of steel everywhere. Some leather work gloves might be best. I assumed the parts would have been cleaned or deburred some how. But they were not, now I have hands full of tiny steel shards. Not happy. Find some not from China, might be better.

Attach the hook and thread the wire before mounting the plates!!
Just what we needed but read and follow this review's headline. Otherwise, you will need to remove the plate(s) and start over.

Metal connector snapped open, wire flew - be wary of this one
I rarely do one star reviews, thank goodness - but this one has to be done. My husband ordered this to fix our backyard cedar wood gate, which had sprung off kilter over time. He was stringing everything in place, everything was lovely, when suddenly the connector (the piece that tightens the tension and holds the taut wires) sprung off and the wires snapped - thank goodness he was standing back at the time, because otherwise I think he'd have lost an eye... One end of the metal connector pulled completely open! (The end closest to the packaging in the attached photo) You crank the tension intentionally, that's how it works - there is no indication that it cannot be tightened to a certain point without threatening structural integrity, there is no information warning that the metal could pull apart... There are about 5 half-line "instructions" on the packaging that indicate how to use this product - none give any warnings about tensile strength or the risk of tightening more than a few simple twists. It's called ultra hardware and is intended to pull gates into alignment - one would, I think, be forgiven for assuming that it could do just that without snapping...
