Works very well for hanger bolts
This is exactly what I needed. First I had to understand the name of the hardware that is a bolt on one end and a screw on the other. Hanger bolts! I used this bit to drive the hanger bolts into the outside wall of my house. (Fake stucco aka EIFS). Drilled a hole, filled the hole with excel adhesive and drove the hanger bolts into the wall with this bit. It was easy to control the depth of the hanger bolts. Of 10 bolts driven, I only drove 1 slightly too deep, which ended up being easy to correct by using 2 nuts on the end of the bolt part.

Works great, but only for installing.
I was surprised it worked so well. A great value. I was worried it might tighten up and thread-lock when installing and not want to back off, but I had no such problems. However one still needs a proper stud tool if one wants to remove studs.

Perfect driver
This was the perfect tool to drive the 5/16" x 5" hanger bolt. I used it with my Ryobi battery-powered drill, but it claims to be safe for impact drivers as well. There were no problems, and it didn't mess up the threads on the machine-screw end of the bolt, despite some serious resistance from the wood.In hindsight, I wish there was a similar tool to back out a hanger bolt. Don't ask. Luckily, I had several of them, because the vise-grip pliers I used to remove the first one destroyed its threads.

just what the doctor ordered
using hanger bolts for annual storm window attach was using deck screws...house started to look like I had wood peckers...hopefully the seasonal changeover will go well. This driver made the job a lot easier...glad Amazon suggested it in my order
