I love these shoes!
I LOVE these shoes! I have some keen shoes that are 15 years old and I still use them in the yard. Well warn but they probably have another 5 years of life in them. So well made. These are stylish and comfortable. The leather is perfect for shoes. Little scuffs blend right in. I love the toe box. One of my favs is how the rubber sole wraps up and protects the upper toe from scratches. Super sturdy shoes that last forever, even in the hardest conditions.

Great...I think
I purchased these from Amazon after trying on a different Keen in a retail store, I figured that Keen would be across the board with sizing. These aren't available where I live. I ordered a 12 and they were a half a size to large. I sent them back and exchanged them for 11 1/2. I received these and they fit perfect. The box toe is something to get used to, I am coming from Merrell's and never owned Keen. Here was the big issue. I have never had an issue with Amazon like this, maybe this was a fluke. The right shoe looked like it had been worn and something splashed all over the shoe and it stained. I tried to wipe clean with a wet rag, no go. It was very noticeable. I called Amazon already having a Prime account, I requested these be 1 day shipped for this mistake. The rep placed me on hold for a few minutes then came back and said she will email me the results. I advised her that if it can't be 1 day, just refund. SO, in a few minutes I received an email saying they refunded me. I think this is pretty sorry on Amazon's part. Blessing anyway, the chocolate color was available on another site for 79.95, a full 30.00 dollars cheaper than Amazon.Bottom line, watch for used products to be shipped. I read feedback when I was shopping for buzzers recently, customers were receiving used buzzers. This order of mine was fulfilled by Amazon, someone didn't check both shoes prior to re-shipping them out from another return. And you may want to do a quick web search before buying. You may find a blessing of your own. What little time I had the shoe on, it seems comfortable. I can tell there is some breaking in to do, I would hope they break quick. The box toe is roomy, but not too much just make sure you get the correct foot length fit. They seem like they will be rather comfy. Another plus is the footbed is removable and not cloth. I have found non-cloth insoles wear longer, and fend off odor causing bacteria better.

Shoes that last. Feel great.
This is a 10 year shoe. At least I am upgrading my shoes that I bought 10 years ago.... The 10 years old shoes are still great. I wear them around the house. The new ones go to work.

One of the BEST shoes I have EVER worn!
I think this pair is my fourth or fifth. I work for UPS and these are my "work shoes". I am on my feet nonstop, standing, climbing multipul flights of stairs/ and decending. Packages fall on my feet/toes. I use my feet as an anchor when leaning back to reach behind me (foot is under a panel and upward pressure keeps me from falling backward as my other foot is firm against the ground) allowing for an extra 1-2 ft of reach. I am very hard on them and I typically get at least 2 years of wear before they start looking heavily used and even then I probably get another 6 month to a year before they are coming apart. After about the first year I have had to replace the laces with 550 paracord. They have a clean, simple but unique appearance that I like. When in newer condition I occasionally receive compliments on them. I have worn Nike hiker style shoes and Timberland work boots but they do not compare to the comfort and durability of the Keen Austin. I LOVE them & dread the possibility of Keen discontinuing the style. Whenever I order a pair I have contemplated ordering two so I have a pair in reserve should Keen decide to stop manufacturing them. I do have a narrower foot than the average male but find the fit to be perfect after 2 or 3 days of work and the shoe has been "broken in". Plenty of wiggle room for my toes in this product. I wear Under Armour Heat Gear No Show style socks with them. If I were to make any changes to the shoe...I would pair them with stronger laces (550 paracord) and of course a lower price (we all want the prices to be less than the current price on every product we buy)...not to be misunderstood, they are not overpriced considering the quality, longevity, foot protection and comfort.

Best shoes in the world
As a tall guy with big feet, I have been unable to find good comfortable shoes that will last. I have been searching for something comfortable and leather that will last for years and be comfortable in the process. I have bought leather shoes in the past like doc martins and such only to have really bad foot pain. A fellow teacher of mine has a pair just like these that he got at a thrift shop 3 years ago and they have hardly aged. I knew that this was something I needed to try. So far they are great and even before breaking in I love them. plenty of room in the toes and good support. Also they are built like a brick outhouse so I know I will have them for years. I couldnt be happier. I plan to wear them until the soles wear out.

The Good, Bad and Ugly
The Good: These shoes seem well constructed with quality leather and I like how they look. Wide toe box as expected. The Bad: I put them on and felt like I was wearing a medieval torture device. Seriously, these are the most uncomfortable shoes out of box I have ever purchased. The tongue of the shoe is so rigid and stiff it drives into tibialis tendon on the front of your foot and actually makes your feet start to fall asleep from lack of circulation. Leaves a large red welt on the front of both feet after a few minutes just wearing around the house. I took off the shoe and tried breaking in the tongue of the shoe by hand. Serious, at this point wooden clogs would be more comfortable. The Ugly: I must be a glutton for punishment because I have hopes that I can break the shoe in and it will be comfortable enough after that. I’m going to keep it and continue to try to break it in because I do like how it looks and the shoe is wide - doesn’t cramp feet.. If all the edges and tongue soften up and the shoe breaks in a little bit, it seems like it could be a comfortable shoe.I am giving it the benefit of the doubt by offering three stars.
