City Secrets Florence Venice: The Essential Insider's Guide

I’ve used these guides before and they are different and convenient. We found lots of little gems on our trips that we would not have been aware.

While this is interesting at a certain level, it is a disappointment after the more comprehensive and inviting CITY SECRETS ROME, and especially after consulting the extremely detailed SECRET VENICE (which will have you hopping into every alley in that wonderful city.) If you are going to have time in Venice, take the latter and put on your Sherlock Holmes hat. As for Florence - my goodness - is this all they could find to tell us about? Trust Rick Steves first....

After having been impressed by the Secert History of Rome, I was very disappointed in the Secret History of Florence & Venice. The Venice portion was good, but the Florence portion was just simply too sparse to provide much inspiration or guideance.

Correct: the Florence coverage is not as good as the Rome secrets book. Still, more fundamentally interesting than other guides. Food choices are reliable.

A really useful travel series. It gets you away from the overcrowded major sites and gives you information about the smaller gems that can be found and enjoyed in a peaceful mob-free environment

This book fails at every level. Very poor. It cannot be used as a guide book it simply doesn't have the information.

Great little guide book.
