Flag Pole Down-Light - 35 Feet Tall.... casts 90 foot circle of light! AMAZING!
I purchased the "Led Post Top Light 60W, LED Circular Area Light with Photocell 5000K Daylight (300W Equivalent - 8400 Lumen, 120 degree beam )" for the top of my FlagPole and I'm THRILLED!! I was concerned about whether this would be too bright... and maybe it is... but that's a good thing. The mounting system is a little weak. They give you some hex head screws to secure the light, to the arms, and the arms, to the cup. You can tighten them with an allen wrench or with a special bit or driver. Even with them cranked tight, the light head still wobbled a little in comparison to the cup. But once its in the vertical position, there shouldn't be much lateral force on it save for the wind load. I'm hoping it won't loosen up over time. In hindsight, perhaps I should have installed it with some Thread-Lock adhesive. Oops...I stretched a 100 foot tape measure on a cloudy night, so you got the true effect of this light by itself. The description says it has a 120 degree beam angle. I'm not a math guy, so lets just be practical about this... The top of the blue daylight sensor cup is just shy of 35 feet tall. The 30 foot circle is amazing! The 60 foot circle is pretty good. The 90 foot circle of light is still almost enough to keep you from tripping over something. I've attached photos so you can you try to gauge the spread. Sorry, but I don't have a lumens meter.I suspect if put this on a 20 foot pole, you'll find that the 20 foot circle is amazing, the 40 foot circle is pretty good and the 60 foot circle is still almost enough to keep you from tripping over something. That's just a guess. You can do your own math :-)I've attached the guide I used to pour the base for my flagpole (this is an old sailboat mast). I dug a hole 5 foot deep... 40 inches across near the bottom, similar to the red bed shape on the guide. We used 6" oval ducts to make sleeves. I poured about 1000 lbs of cement (way overkill). After the cement cured for a month, we installed drilled holes in 2x4 aluminum tube stock for stainless all thread, plumb, and surrounded them with sand. We drilled corresponding holes in the mast.I modified the light mounting cup to fit over the pullies at the top of the mast. We installed the light, and ran 12 gauge UF Romex up through the pole to the light. We dug a trench, laid conduit, installed more 12 ga wire and a GFI breaker and used a couple of grey NEMA boxes and some flexible conduit to get our UF wire into an enclosure and connected to our feed from the panel. Added a grounding rod and bonded it to the pole.Looks good during the day.... looks AMAZING at night... lights up the whole front yard, and part of the street. Good theft deterrent and bonus, it makes my security camera footage look even better!! While it doesn't add any red for the Infrared sensors to pick up, it adds a LOT of ambient light, brightening up all of the backgrounds in the various cameras covering the area.I suppose if I was lighting up a parking lot, then I could consider the brighter options, but in our quiet little residential street, I'm already the brightest house on the block... Anything brighter, and no-one would get any sleep. This is perfect, soft light, bright enough to work outside after dark. But even with it on, I still used my head-lamp flashlight as I was cleaning up the tools to make sure I didn't miss anything. If you are thinking about modifying this and using it for the downlight on your flagpole because you are scared of all the bad reviews on the actual "flagpole lights" like I was, I think this is a good choice if you are handy and can modify the cast aluminum cup if needed. It says it has a five year warranty. I purchased this in June of 2020... and installed it April of 2021... If it fails prematurely, I'll come back and update this review, but everything so far, looks good.Note: when you first power it up, it blinks on and immediately back off... Don't Panic! If its dark out and the sensor is going to kick it on, then it takes about 10 to 20 seconds for it to cycle to the ON seeing and apply power to the light... We did run a few tests on the ground, covering the sensor with my hands or black tape, to ensure it worked, before we stuck it 35 feet in the air.

Great price and product
I’ve used many of their different lights in my commercial service company. Can’t say enough about how well these are built and last. This one is only 80watts and puts out a lot of light. We always assemble and test fixtures in our shop first before installing, but have never had one bad yet. These are super easy to assemble, about two minutes each.

Huge improvement
We replaced 15, 175-watt Metal Halide fixtures with these. Much better-looking white light. We had to paint them gray to match our poles but other than that, the installation was simple. Wires were clearly labeled and fixtures fit perfectly on our 3" tenon. I was concerned about how intense the LED would look when viewed directly but with the light design, and 80 watts variety, it's not really a problem. So far no problem but we're going to buy a few more for back-up.Update 10/23: We installed these about 10 months and so far no problems. They were not used for about 4 of those months due to reduced hours for Covid. We like the look. We are happy with our purchase.

Solid construction, very good light spread as per photos
White light is a little harsh even at 4,000K.Photoelectric device on top didn't need to be blue. I plan on painting it black. It comes off easily. Not mentioned in the product description but probably valid is that it seems to be "night sky" compliant too.I ordered the post separately.

Beautiful and bright!
This is a beautiful post top light! Its big and bright! The installation is very straight forward and I did it all by myself in less than half hour. I also decorated it with artificial vine to cover the screws which are used for straighten and tighten the light to the post. It's so bright at night! If you don't want it to work at night, you may just take the blue sensor off and tape the holes with tapes so that it won't get damaged by rain. Overall, good value for the money! It makes my yard like daytime after dark!

Very Bright, Works Perfect!
As the headline reads, very bright and it works better than my old 3-light lamp. It's weathered the elements no problem so far. The 5-year warranty definitely helps with that, which was easy to set up and their customer service was really direct and nice. A satisfied customer. :)I recommend this product!
