BAG-it Classic with PERMA-lid Combo for Older LitterMaid Receptacles INCLUDING a clean Receptacle

I like the perma lid very much. It's great to keep the odor in and to stop having the lid fall into the receptacle. However, the plastic part to secure the bag really only works with the older style grocery bags that are no longer available in California. I bought small trash bags and have been using those instead. They work adequately. The receptacle that was provided was flimsier than the ones that came with the Litter Maid unit. It cracked down the side immediately. I am using bags, though, so I can still use it, but it was lower quality than the ones I had before. It's okay. The bag is bulky, and the lid won't close all the way any longer. It's okay. I guess it's better than having to buy receptacles all the time.

I do want to say that I *LOVE* the permanent lid! I actually purchased this because I wanted to use grocery bags instead of the receptacles. Guess I should've just tried it on my own first. Basically if you put a plastic bag inside a receptacle, then fold the extra around it and put it in your litter maid, you get exactly what happens here. The only difference is the little plastic piece that sits inside the bag, holding it in place. BUT the little plastic piece (a) isn't necessary and (b) gets dirty litter all over it, AND you have to use your hands to fish it out of the bag before tossing. EW!But if you want the perma-lid, that's totallly worth it. It neither adds nor detracts from the smell, but it definitely stays in place WAY better than the littermaid lids.

Overpriced and incomplete, in the video showed a litter deflector also it did not come with that.It slips in and out the lid does not make a tight fit no matter how much you adjust, and the price is ridicules, I could have made the same thing with Toung depressor and hot glue. I did not even use the top because it would not seal. should be $5 then maybe worth it and I wanted it to work.

Easy to set up, and much better than trying to pull the whole cartridge out to replace bags. If you let it get too full its almost impossible to replace the bags without touching anything because you have to be able to grab the edge. That only took once for daughter to learn to change it more often. Its easier to clean the lid as well since its flat, instead fo trying to clean in the ridges of the cartridge lids. I don't think it seals quite as well, but never have the problem of the cartridge lid disconnecting and getting poop everywhere because the cartridge closed.

very nice substitute for the original system. I did expect a more substantial receptacle than the one that the original manufacturer uses, however the system works well as is.

I tried this for about 2 months before reviewing. It's...ok. There isn't a way to keep the smell contained. I tried baking soda, scented bags, even changing the bags every day (which kind of defeats the purpose...). It will work in a pinch when I can't get the disposable liners but I went back to those just so I could keep the smell contained.

This is a very good idea. I'm glad I decided to give this system a try. However, if you have more than one cat, you will be emptying it at least once a day.

Slightly expensive for the items included. I would have also liked a permanent waste basket and paid a bit more.
