colour exercise for fashion drawing
excellent book for colour reference on mixing colours for skin hair and facial features, and how to achieve painting texture for various fabric effects.I would recommend this book to anyone who just wants to enjoy painting fashion without to much technical jargon it is easy to follow with good results

This book is delightful, the illustrations are perfect all the way through, a real pleasure to read. I have a lot of fashion books of this kind and this is by far the best, absolutely my favourite.

Very good
I'm really glad I bought this book, I am a part-time artist and had been struggling with my fashion type drawings for some time. I spent a long time stretching on watercolour paper and using a fairly limited pallet of watercolours alongside very fine tipped black pens. I couldn't figure out how the very fluid grey lines were achieved in fashion drawings. Luckily my questions have been answered, I've ditched my fine black pens and I'm now using black ink and a very fine brush for my fashion drawings. I've also stopped using watercolour paper and I'm now using acrylic paper With acrylics which have been suggested in this book, you don't get the same effect as watercolours however you can build layers of acrylic up and the paper shouldn't buckle as watercolour paper can. I've tried out this method today and I'm really pleased with the result. I'd bought a large selection of acrylic paints awhile ago and was really struggling with them, however I do agree that they are a fantastic medium for this type of drawing. I have a few brushes but not all of the brushes suggested in the book,I do recommend a very fine small brush for certain parts of your artwork. I would liked to have seen much more explanation as how to draw lace and also how to make fabrics look transparent such as some of the nets used in fashion. Other than that I can't really fault this book, colours and ideas are explained and It really is quite informative, I shall enjoy using it.
