Kalimba Thumb Piano 17 Key Finger Piano with Tuning Tool and Carry Bag by Finether (Mahogany)

I ordered one of these for my grandson (he is 21) for this Christmas. The sound and the novelty of the idea is so good that I went on to purchase another one for my 56yr old brother! I ordered 3 of the slightly cheaper versions from a different supplier for the young grandchildren and there is no comparison in sound. It is not a toy. It's a really beautiful instrument. In fact my husband (who is 80) has been enjoying trying these ones out so much, that I may just need to buy one for him too! The piece of wood is quite heavy and beautifully crafted. You need to read the instructions on how to develop further sound through the holes in the back of the wood too. There's loads of pleasure to be had with these for folk of all ages. I definitely recommend this particular one.

Bought for myself, arrived very well packaged, looks well made, very attractive instument. Needed completely tuned before I could play it, but this is easy enough using the little tuning hammer supplied and a phone app. Nice sounding once tuned. Only negative thought is that the pickup, seems a little to sensative as every touch and scrape could be heard while playing through an amp, this could be just a case of getting the amp settings just right, but i think really if you intend playing in a situation perhaps with other musicians, it would be better to use an external mike pointed at the instrument, this will enable you to make the most of the wah wah effect you can get by covering/uncovering the front sound hole.

The media could not be loaded.  Bought this for my sister for Xmas 2020. She is over the moon with it and sent me these photos and video. She learnt to play this very easily and quickly. It is very good quality and she likes the fact that you can plug it into a speak too

Simply brilliant!It stays in tune, with the bonus of being able to plug it straight into an amp or i/o. After having a go on my thumb piano, a friend bought one to take on tour around Eire, to see if he could entice leprechauns out of their hiding places. I’m not sure if it worked as he says he’s sworn to secrecy!

ive had the kalimba with pickup for about a year know and i love it, it sounds beautiful, its stayed in tune, looks great and was a great price but the pick up isnt very good and its mounted to one side so one half of the kalimba is really quite while the other is clear. so use an external mic. its a real shame as the difference between the cheapest pickup and one that would've worked must be in the single digits

The easiness depends on how experienced you are with musical instruments. It's not hard to learn. The sound is very relaxing, and the size is good to carry it everywhere. I love it.
