I would buy from Wonder books again.

This book was written by one of, if not "the," deans of railroad history. It's extremely well done, and I enjoyed it immensely. It's chronologically and topically laid out with excellent thought flow. It has excellent drawings and photographs that illustrate the concepts discussed in the text. If you are into railroad history and the movement of perishables this book is for you. If you are into "reefers" this book is for you. My only wish would have been for some color pictures, particularly of the billboard reefers, but I understand that such are rare.

Great book by the man who was head of the transportation dept of the Smithsonian I have all his trans books and this is only one of his fine examples.

This was bought as a gift for a model railroader who specialized in collecting mostly "reefer" cars. There was a wealth of information to be had with this book and it was given two thumbs up. (y)
