I bought a size 11. At the time of purchase I am 5'1" tall, 154lbs and I carry my weight evenly throughout my body. I'm not pear shaped or all weight in my belly or all weight in my legs. I'm trying to be as descriptive as I can so it helps you to decide what size to buy. I will say - get these shorts!!! I love these so much that I bought so many of these short because they fit so great! They are the perfect length for me and the material has stretch for times when we are bloated. They are super cute. I get asked all the time where I got them. If you are on the fence - get them! I hope this helped someone - I tried to give as much informative information as I could.

I bought the gray and black pairs and am in love! I have had them for 2 weeks, vacationed in them at the lake, and washed them with no problems. Pros: These are the only shorts that have not ridden up between my legs! They are soft and comfortable and wash well. I tuck the right rear pocket flap into the pocket so I can slip my phone in the pocket and the flap flattened right back out after washing... no ironing necessary. The material and stitching are of quality. They are lower rise and have useful pockets! Cons: Minor con- They stretch out over the course of a day. Both the black and gray pair are the same size (9). The photo of the gray pair is straight out of the dryer and represents how they fit upon delivery as well. The photo of the black ones is after wearing them all day (mostly spent sitting). They do not stretch beyond this and are still just as comfortable so not a deal-breaker for me. I wear a 10 or 12 in lower-rise American Eagle shorts and jeans and a 30 in low-rise Buckle jeans. My waist is 32", hips (around butt) is 41.5", so according to the size chart, I should be a size 13. I bought sizes 13, 11, and 9. Both the 13 and 11's were too big and the 9's fit perfectly! My measurements where the shorts sit (between my belly button and hip bone) is 36.75" and my thigh at the leg opening is 25". I am buying 2 more pairs! I just wish they still had the hot pink and true blue colors.

Thank you union bay for keeping quality and size consistent. I’m 28” waist, 38” hip and size 7 is great. The waist isn’t tight up top it has a nice stretch. The denim look is nothing like photo. It’s actually a navy blue which is actually much nicer looking. The tan and white are true to photo.

I'm 5'6" and weigh between 135-140lbs. I usually wear a size 9 or 11 in juniors but after reading reviews of others around my size and weight purchasing size 5's I decided to try a size 5. I was convinced it would end up being too small, but it fit perfectly. I like the softness and stretch of the material. They are lightweight, and not too long or too short. The only con (other than the fact you have to size down multiple sizes) is that they don't hold their shape very well. It doesn't take long before I'm having to pull them up because they're starting to stretch out a little too much. My favorite pair of shorts are a stretchy jean type material and I can wear them more than once without washing them. Unfortunately I've had them so long they're starting to fall apart. I was hoping these would be great replacements, but so far they don't hit the mark all the way. They definitely need to be washed after every wear to help them go back to their original shape. Overall I'm satisfied with them. They would be perfect if they were true to size and held their shape a little better. I bought my pair for $16.99...if I buy a second pair it won't be for more than that because I don't feel they're worth more than $15-17.

I absolutely love these shorts! I was searching for a pair of shorts that were casual but also more versatile (not denim or active wear material) and these are perfect. As far as sizing goes, they do run a bit large, so if you want a more trim fit definitely size down. For reference, I'm 5'5", 143 lbs, and usually wear a size 6 in pants, jeans and shorts. I ordered a size 9 and honestly could have gone with a 7 for a more trim fit. But, I prefer a more relaxed fit (and hate "muffin top") so I kept the size 9. The waist is more of a low rise than mid or high, which I prefer with my more rectangular body shape. The length is short but still flattering. And, shipping was super fast on these. I received them the day after I ordered them! I'll definitely be ordering another pair.Update: So, almost two months after I posted this review, my fourth pair of these shorts is on the way. I've worn these shorts all summer (in Sandy Brown, White, Galaxy Grey, and now Vintage Indigo) and they've been perfect for the extremely hot weather we've had this year. My advice is when you find a style of shorts, pants, or jeans that works for you, buy them in multiple colors. It's so hard to find the right styles and fits that are both stylish and flattering, especially for us ladies of a certain age.

I ordered 7 pairs of these shorts! I absolutely love them. I normally wear 6/8 so I ordered the size 9. The size 9 is perfect and not tight at all. I noticed the darker colors fit a little smaller (not much) but just a little bit.

I am 5’6 107 pounds. it’s hard to find pants that fit my chicken legs lol but these are awesome! I got a size 0. They do have stretch to them as well.

I love these shorts so much I’ve purchased 3 of them now. They fit true to size, are soft and stretchy, just the right length (I like to roll them once) and no gapping in the waist at the back which I find a lot of shorts do. The waist is a tad bit loose on me but not enough to need a belt and only helps to not get muffin top. Well made and good material. I would recommend and have done so to a friend who has just bought a pair too.

Based on measurements, I'm supposed to be a size 11, but I realized it was way too stretchy so I sized down to a 9 and it was just the right amount of stretch. You can consider sizing down one or two sizes based on how form fitting you want it to be and how loose you want it to be around your thighs as well.

I like these shorts and have them in different colors. I’m 5ft5 and 113 Lbs, athletic runner build. I started with a size 3 as suggested and it stretched after first wear. I ordered a 0 in the purple color and they fit me perfect. If you are going to buy these, size down 2 sizes. The fabric will stretch quite a bit, so don’t freak out if they are initially snug. That’s how the zero felt initially but now they are perfect.
