All of these Chinese built fuel valves are fragile, made of what we used to call "pot metal" an old material for child's toys.They're inexpensive, and work if handled with care. I purchased two. Used WD-40 or oil to lube the valve core, and fuel resistant gasket sealer (not teflon) to carefully tighten the threads to fuel tank; about 1/4 turn beyond hand tight should do it.

I bought this shutoff valve/fuel filter as a spare for my generator. When hurricane Sally hit I decided to go ahead and replace it so we would have the generator ready if we lost power after the storm. I applied very little torque installing it and the valve shattered in my hand. Needless to say we are without power and without a backup generator. Do not waste your money on this shutoff valve.

This item does not come with the filter screen. You must remove the filter screen and O-ring from your old shut-off valve. The screen and the O-ring are difficult to install. The threaded nut that assembles to the tank is not quite long enough. It only screws on about a 3/4 turn. It works, but could definitely be better.

inside the on/off valve is a groove that allows fuel flow from the tank to the carburetor in the on position. the groove on mine was incomplete therefore not providing fuel to the carburetor. Manufacturing defect.

Glad to find this after the handle on the original one broke off. This one fit perfect, no leaks and put my generator back in business. I recommend it.

this valve was just what I was looking for. once the gas was drained it only took about 5 minutes to install valve. Thank you, I would buy it again!

Could not get the filter that came with it insert. ENDED UP USING THE OLD ORIGINAL FILTER WHICH FITS GREAT

This valve is the same as oem replacement for 1/2 the price.
