Savogran All Purpose Heavy Duty Cleaner Clean Surface for Painting

Helped a friend clean a family member’s home. This stuff is amazing. Mixed 3/4 cup to 2 gallons warm water and funneled into a spray bottle. Sprayed on, let it sit for a few seconds and wiped off with clean car wash sponge. Rinsed sponge in clean water bucket and wiped off any excess. Also worked like a dream on painted furniture. I wouldn’t recommend it on any paint you’d like to keep glossy, but satin paint was fine.I’ve also used this product to remove the smell of smoke from bedding after a house fire. It also worked wonders to help remove dog feces and urine smell from linens, bedding and clothing during a hoarder house clean out. The entire home smelled like it, even where the dogs didn’t “go”. It took a couple washes (2-3) to get rid of the fire damage smell and dog odors. In those cases, I did not dry the items until the smell was gone. The owners were also surprised at how well it worked!

TSP should not be used as an everyday cleaner, but for a once every four or five year restaining of a deck it's the right cleaner to use to scrub the wood before power washing.

This stuff works very well, but it also peels the paint; If you have crappy paint, you are rubbing it on or if you rub it on spackle, it will melt it. Even though it melts the paint a little bit it’s not nearly as bad as rubbing it on spackle, the spackle basically fall apart, and melt into a liquid has a smears all over.

We were happy to find TSP on Amazon, after searching the hardware stores in our area. This is a product we have used for many years. Product is excellent, but the paise goes to Amazon for making it available.

The tsp is green box is better.

You read scary stuff about TSP like it’s sulfuric acid. It is not. It was banned in laundry detergents because the super effective degreaser & cleaner, phosphate, is a fertilizer & causes algae to grow in bodies of fresh water. I use it for siding cleaning & prepping most surfaces for painting especially around plants. The used dirty mix can be poured around plants & lawn to their benefit. Use safety glasses & rubber gloves because it will irritate if splashed in eyes & bare skin but is easily hosed off. Don’t throw the used TSP in the gutter. The substitutes are no good. It’s also a lot safer than bleach & other harsh cleaners around vegetation.
