... Arizona and understand the purpose and need for a good window sun shield
I will start this review by stating that I live in Arizona and understand the purpose and need for a good window sun shield. I have tried numerous supposed "universal" sun shades for my black 2004 Ford F-150 FX4 that enjoys sucking up the hot Arizona heat. These universal sun shades have been purchased at Walmart, Target and a couple of auto stores. None of them correctly fit my truck. They were either not wide enough to cover the entire front windshield or they were not tall enough making it almost impossible for the cabin visors to hold the sun shades in place. I started to do a lot of research attempting to find a sun shield specifically designed for the Ford F-150. As info, there aren't a lot out there but, after narrowing my choices down and a lot of contemplation, I decided on the Covercraft UVS100.At first I was hesitant to make the purchase based upon the price. $60.00 for a sun shield is steep. However, I am coming to the conclusion that the old saying "you get what you pay for" is true. Especially in this instance. Plus, the cost was worth not dealing with the headache anymore of "universal" sun shields that don't work. Upon receipt, my first impression was being extremely impressed by the product packaging to prevent in-transit damage. It was a box within a box concept which, absent a puncture through both layers, should protect the product from the majority of in-transit issues. Upon opening the box, the second thing that stuck out was sturdiness and how well constructed the sun shield was once unfolded. After experiencing thin and cheaply made sun shields, the Covercraft is thick and solid. The side facing out is a reflective material and the backside is felt. Inserting the sun shield into my Ford F-150's windshield it was readily apparent the product fit like a glove. You can tell it is specifically cut for the Ford F-150. I have seen a few reviews that complained about the cut out area for the rearview mirror. I don't think this area is overly large where it would make much of an impact on the internal cabin temperature. Actually, I like the size of the cut out as it makes it easier to get the shield into the windshield. Having had our first 100 degree day this year, the sun shield certainly made a difference in reducing the cabin temperature. For me, there is only one negative to this product. Covercraft makes a storage bag for the UVS100 that is sold separately. I have seen it online for between $10.00-17.00. I think for the price of this sun shield, Covercraft should include it in the purchase. I shouldn't have to spend another almost $20.00 to protect the heat shield during the off-season. Also, while it doesn't effect me, I can also see how this shield, while superbly made, could be heavy for some individuals and could be difficult putting it place in the windshield.Overall, after years of trying to find the perfect sun shield for my Ford F-150 the search has ended. I highly recommend the product and look forward to many years of use.

Warps and does not insulate well
We purchased this sunshade for our 2006 F150 on June 14, 2019 and we began using it as soon as we got it. Living in Florida, it is very important to have a good sunshade to both reduce the interior heat and to protect the dash and upholstery from sun related damage. When this first arrived, I really liked the fact that it was so stiff and thick. However, I was concerned that it appeared to not have much thermal resistance (insulating ability). We have been using this sunshade for just over a month now. As stated earlier, I like how thick and rigid it is. It also fits our F150 very well and much better than any other sunshade that I have ever owned. I also like how much light that it blocks, which should be great for reducing sun damage to the trucks interior. With the side windows tinted as dark as the law allows and this sunshade installed, it is dark enough that I could sleep in our truck during the middle of the day. However, the lack of insulating ability allows the temperature to sky rocket and when we open the door of our truck after a short time in the Florida sun, it is pretty hot inside the truck. Upon arriving in a parking lot, I have installed the sun and tried to make a phone call prior to leaving the truck. After only a few minutes, I have to restart the truck and run the air conditioner because of the rise in temperature in the truck. As I expected, this sunshade appears to only be constructed of a thick cardboard composite type material which is coated with a gray finish on one side and has very little insulating properties. The sun has also caused the sunshade to warp and bow down in the center quite significantly. The warp is so bad that the sunshade no longer folds “flat” for storage or fits tightly against the windshield along the center of the sides. If this sunshade were coated gray on both sides, then I could flip it over every other use and this would help reduce the warping issue. In summary, if Covercraft would redesign this sunshade and incorporate some form of stiffeners, increase its thermal insulating properties and coat both sides silver, then this would be an awesome sunshade!Unfortunately, at the $60.00 price of this sunshade, I don’t think I can recommend others spend their hard earned money on.Pros:Protects from sun damageFits the large windshield wellCons:Does not insulate wellWarpsNo longer folds tightly for storage, due to warp

Heavy Duty - Keeps Car Cooler
This type of window sunscreen does keep the interior of the vehicle much cooler because of the thickness of the product. Also, I find it a lot easier to work with when there is a big windshield like the one on my truck. The screens with the wire edges tend to bend and roll up which makes it hard to get it into the window. My one complaint, is when taking it out of the window on a sunny day, the side that faces the window is really hot. But I guess that should be expected considering temperatures can be 110+ degrees in the summer months. But, it's nice not to have the HOT steering wheel. I bought one previously for a different vehicle. This is my 2nd custom fit sunscreen. This one does not seem to be made as well as the first one. Some of the felt backing is bubbling as if it is not completely glued down. This is more noticeable with this one when it gets HOT out. My first one, there are no problems. Overall, I would recommend this product vs. the flimsy wired ones, even though this is more money.

FITS MY 2006 F-150 PERFECTLY!!!!
after years of using the big box stores flimsy shades that fit close but never quite right, i finally found the perfect shade. this one is sturdy and thick and blocks so much sun and uv rays that my car does not feel as hot as before when i used the other cheaper ones. another great feature is the fact that when putting it up, it does not disturb your rear view mirror or the trinkets that u may have hanging from it. folds up pretty easily too. i store in on my back seat as i'm usually travelling alone in my truck. be mindful not to sit on or bend any of the flat rigid areas.
