first smart charger
Being my first one I did my research and kept coming back to this one. Good ratings and a good price. This works very well. We switched over to all AAA and AA rechargeable batteries. It's amazing how manybatteries you actually use in your home. After the initial investment it should pay off for itself within 12-18 months.Best thing of all is no running out of batteries. I always have spares ready to replace.

no idea about their technology but this charger is the best ever. i bought many cheaper ones...this one works.
just bought this 2nd one....no idea about their technology but this charger is the best ever....yes...i bought other names...many of them that are about $20....they either burned out the batteries or just weren't good...we use this with about every decent rechargeable battery (energizer, duracell, amazon, enercell) and the batteries perform. we mostly use them to power XBox controllers, and some top end remote cars and truck controllers... I actually have been able to use a few energizer batteries that showed up as "dead" on other chargers..so...buy a few good rechargeable batteries and try this....

Where as this battery charger been all my life?
Updated: So I've got a hefty amount of experience with batteries professionally and personally. I worked in IT maintaining equipment and I know how to maintain batteries to get the most out of them. For my home in the past, I always used the name brand rechargeables and their included charging devices. Problem there is you need to charge in pairs and that introduces problems. I have a mix of uses too, wall clocks, xbox controllers, children's toys, flashlights, etc. Eventually I was getting batteries that would be drained after only a short while. So I bought this Ansmann battery charger. I've been using it for a over a year now and I absolutely love it. I'm getting 2x-3x the life out of a pair of charged batteries now. I use the discharge feature for all batteries I put in there too, so all batteries come out fully charged. Couple that with the fact that each battery gets charged to it's max individual capacity and you've got a much better experience with using rechargeable batteries. One negative I found was the USB port on the side is only active when the charger is plugged into an electrical outlet. I had imagined that you could put a bunch of AA batteries in there then use it as a battery back, nope. It doesn't allow you to use the charger as a battery pack.

Absolute dream
This is what I needed. I discharged my batteries and they lasted much longer. I use my batteries in my Nikon flashes and I've gotten far more flashes after discharging, charging, and maintaining my AA batteries. It's hard to believe that this type of quality could be had for this low cost. I will purchase another just to have it on hand. I would recommend this. God bless

Seller non-responsive to defective product
Product was defective and seller never responded to my return claim. Manufacturer support team agreed via email product must be defective after trying to trouble shoot issues of non-charging.

Good enough
I may actually come back to update but as far as i am concerned, this is good enough where you donot have to out a pair or quad of batteries. You can put 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 or more and each terminal will give you a feedback of the battery being charged. It drains and it charges. Yes! It isn't the fastest charge but it is good enough. The less you charge the faster. The more you charge the longer it will take.

Great with Ansmann Slimline AA 2850mAh for Shure cordless microphones, LEDs very bright
This charger and the Ansmann 5035212-US 4-Pack Slimline AA 2850mAh work great together for churches with Shure cordless microphones. The indicators are clear and it is a compact unit for 8 batteries. The USB is nice to have too. The only reason I don't give 5-stars is that the LEDs are a too bright. The eight LEDs all at once can almost be blinding indoors, but on the other hand, it would be perfect for outdoor gigs in the bright sun. Since I'm using this indoors like most people, I put several layers or semi-transparent Scotch tape over the LEDs to soften them, and it works great.

no es muy confiable
Al poner las baterías de la misma marca tengo que estar revisando por que muchas veces marcan error y hay que quitarla y ponerla de nuevo
